RangerClay
In Jefferson County all we have is Akins Archery and I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. I recently had the best customer service I've had in a yeeeears at BowGuru in Holland Patent. Ian the owner was nothing less than professional and I will drive the 1.5 hours again for that quality of service.
jesse.james
Legends of the Fall in tullyhave you gone to other shops yet? Jeff had really been dropping the ball the last few years.kleins archery for me in dryden. Legends had no problem taking my $1400 but that's about it. Took my brighter there and they set his bow up won't and sent him away. Just ran into a guy at an archery range that took his 1300 and totally messed it up and he had to go to AJs to fix it. Seems like they are trying to push quantity over quality. Edited August 28, 2013 by jesse.james

I just had a delightful experience there myself. My bottom cam is making a vibrating noise when I shoot, so I drove the hour to their shop. I went inside and had 2 kids look at my bow and say it was a bad bearing. That was it. They didn't even offer to fix it under Mathews warranty. Just told me the bearing was bad and went on to help other customers! I do all my own work on my bow but need to have a Mathews dealer do the warranty work. Too bad all the Mathews dealers in CNY are a joke! Guess I'll have to buy a different brand after hunting season. I really like the Elite Answer! All I can say about Legends of the Fall is, if you want teenagers to work on your bow then that's the place to go!!

nyslowhand
traditions in monroe and guerin-teed archery in wayne have both got my business and both been easy to deal with. As customer reviews goes, they're mixed at best! Had 3-4 bad experiences at Guerin-Teed Archery. Always groups of guys BS-ing, no one wants to wait on you, owner never around during bow season, overpriced, antique used bows... So, if you live in Wayne county, you're SOL and will need to make a road-trip. Have had decent luck at Jim's in northern Ontario Co, on Rte96 between Manchester & race track/Casino. But...Need to visit after 5-6PM or weekends when owner is there.
sweet old bill
On Friday it will be 14 days since I took a new bow in ( Oneonta bow shop ) to have a tru peep installed and 1 screw put in on the draw length module on the top limb. Lost the screw while shooting the bow sight in. Of course it fell out in the grass, no a chance in 1 to 1000,000 to find the screw. Planning to stop in on Friday night to see what the problem is. They are a little family run shop so i tend to give them some slack on staffing.

Fletch
Creekside Archery in Central Square Oswego County. I spent last Saturday having him set up my 11 year old son and his bow and tinkerin with mine. Was there well over an hour just us and him. I called the day before and asked what worked for him. Does good work and a nice guy.
covert
For traditional: Tollgate Archery in West Winfield. Modern: Another 2 thumbs up for Ian Brucker, the Bow Guru at Lillies Agway in Holland Patent. I've never been to AJ's but I wasn't too impressed with the girl working their booth at the Syracuse gun show this spring. They had crossbows set up for people to try and I watched one guy taking aim and this girl never even looked and just walked right across in front of him! If he hadn't been paying attention the twit would've had a bolt right through the side of her damn head.

sweet old bill
got the bow back, $20 cost to have a tru peep put in and the draw module they could not get to go in, so they said. Got home and had the wife call the bow mfg, they gave me a return number and said it would be a easy correction, they would check out the total bow, setup to my requirements and no charge. the bow is a Alpine 3D bow model, 40 inches long, set up as 29 inch draw, and 50 to 60 lbs. Shipped the bow back. Alpine could not do enough to help.
