Use buffered, copper plated 2 3/4" magnum loads such as Winchester XX or Federal Premium...

With the reduced pellet count ,chances are #6 shot will give you the best coverage. Use the tightest choke you have..Pattern your gun to determine your maximum range..

Find the right loads and pattern the gun at various distances...  You will quickly get a sense for the effective range and where the pattern is hitting.   it can be a very effective weapon if you know it and understand the effective capabilities of it.
