I think that's where they inplant the Micro Chip so they can find the buck to shoot it ......... ??? ... ??? ... ???
gundeck
The fenced area is only 50 feet by 50 feet. Why do they need a tracking chip?
bushnell
Never really payed that close attention. I will make sure to watch and get back to you.
Cabin Fever
I figured they were just battle scars from those big mature bucks fighting.
Bleitten04
I noticed it the other day on their show. No clue what it is. I could see it happening naturally but every deer I saw had a patch missing. Also I believe their ranches are in Iowa? On one of Bill Jordan's shows that took place in Iowa also had a deer with a patch missing. Also Lee was on the show but I'm not sure if it took place one of his ranches. Very interesting I would love to know what it is really from!!!
Isles323
that's probably from running through low brush and barbed wire fences
ELMER J. FUDD
I just saw on Tecomate, they have game retarding fences around the food plots. When the forage is ready, they raise the bottom of the fences for the deer.
Robinson446
im usually watching tiffany, or ted nugents wife. but i would guess its from fighting and rubbing and when they go under fences and things.
Doc
The mark is from the pet-collar that they took off just before turning on the camera .....
33Canuck
They say it is a combo of going under fences and fighting. Lots of fences and fighting in NY never seen it on a NY deer though
nyantler
Maybe they are branding the herd..
sampotter
My grandfather shot a big 8 in CT that was like that- thought it was from the buck rubbing his tines on his back? Not uncommon though
