cdmckane
I'm watching a nice 6 and a doe in my field right now. He's obviously interested but she's not. They're both laying down about 30 feet apart just staring at each other. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk

Meat Manager
None of my four deer harvested had any stains on their tarsals, not even my buck that came right in on my scent wicks last week. I have also not seen any rut activity in 7j or 7f...charley Alzheimer is calling for late rut and in my observations he is on. Have heard about a lot more chasin on the southern tier and in PA. Meat Manager
Buck i shot two sundays ago was all rutted up. Stunk like crazy!I got mine the same day, neck was all swollen up big, but none of my deer stank and I've only caught a whiff in the woods twice. I like to think of myself as a real tarsal detector! Like I said I'm up pretty far north for SZ. Edited November 11, 2013 by Meat Manager
Catskill Hunter
Just kicking in big where I hunt in 4w but the rifle pressure will get them totally nocturnal be me.
Nomad
Rut what rut. I have hunted the same spot for over 25 years, this year I have yet to see chasing,I see young bucks cruising looking in fields and such, have not heard a grunt, a fight or seen any chasing . Weird year.lots of trials coming off the front cut corn into thick stuff, some new rubs, deer tracks in wheel tracks where combine drove by the day before. See one to three young bucks by themselves . I hope its in full swing Sat. ! Oh 8h Edited November 11, 2013 by Larry302
Woodjr55
My uncle said they were chasing good on Wednesday Thursday Friday last week. I hunted this weekend weather warmed up and nothing. Hopefully tomorrow it's a little better in 9k suppose to get 2-4 inches over night and stay in the 20's all day. It will be my last day in the stand for bow
Doc
I am amazed again this year at the scarcity of rubs and scraps in our area and yet my trail cams are showing that there are a pile of bucks of all sizes around. What the heck is making these guys so darn bashful? I saw this last year too. Compared to years ago, the rut sign is almost non-existent but the quantity of bucks seems to be more than ever. Geno C
Not sure about upstate but the island seems to be very slow and rutting activity seems late. Seems like big shooter bucks have started hitting the ground more and more the past few days to a week upstate... Not to long after that happens my phone starts blowing up with big bucks on the island hitting the ground and that just hasn't happened yet. I don't see nice size deer seeking and multiple bucks seeking, nose to the ground. I see chasing here n there and bucks grunting but not the typical strong Rut activity. Just seems likes a few smaller bucks exercising does and when I check the hocks on the does they just don't seem ready. Some are white and some are just turning color. The ones that just started turning seem to be the ones getting bucks moving for a few days but then it dies down, my guess the bucks see that they are just not ready. I'm hoping next week out here is on on the island and this weekend upstate is on. Fingers crossed
Contender
Since the rutting moon is about 2 weeks later this year than last year, Alsheimer predicted a very late rut. Peak chasing/ seeking 11/14 Peak breeding 11/29 In my area I think he is right on . Rubs have appeared all over the place in the last few days and just saw 2 bruisers in the corn field next to my house, fighting violently while 4 does looked on. It has been basically dead up until last Saturday when there was a noticeable increase in larger cruising bucks. It's getting ready to explode in LIvingston county..,
ATbuckhunter
I think it will be in full swing with chasing, seeking and maybe a little bit of breading for those really early does.
thphm
All I have to say is that the last couple of days when I let my dogs out in the morning to do there thing as soon as I put them out there nosises are up in the air sniffing.Buddy is on Meds., ear infection so he goes out more often and his nose is right up there sniffing, so something is going on here now. New York Hillbilly
I for one will be happy just to be out there for a change. I missed pretty much the entire bow season. I get to hunt this Friday with bow and then every day of rifle season. Hard earned! First thing that gets chased on my land this year will be the idiots my neighbor and brother in law called me about and said have been on my land with chainsaws cutting trails. Get rid of the trespassing nit wits then wait for the rutting bucks.

BUCKANDAQUARTER
It has been a very strange year where I am. Tons of sign showed up from mid Oct until about 2 weeks ago. Rubs and scrapes everywhere. I saw a spike come under my stand with his nose glued to the ground. Went up to my rifle spot yesterday and only one new rub on the walk in and no scrapes or droppings. I was kind of bummed actually. Then on the way home I saw a real nice buck with horns outside the ears, probably a 16+ inch spread. He was chasing a doe. A couple of days ago my buddy was about to draw back on a nice doe when he noticed her acting nervous. He waited about two minutes and sure enough a 5 or 6pt came barreling through without a care in the world, nose to the ground. He tried grunting and "maahhh"ing but nothing was stopping it.
