11 lb ham mashed taters and gravy butternut squash and Caesar salad. Leftovers will be scalloped potatoes and pea soup.

Hunting partner wanted to experiment with scrapple, so we made a batch from the livers, hearts, and shanks from 2 does plus some venison sausage from last season.  Actually smells pretty good.  Froze 2 of them and the official taste test will happen Sat morning (if we’re not dining on fresh buck heart + eggs)

Pork tenderloin in a mesquite marinade.  Also had some potatoes wrapped in foil.  The potatoes came out medium rare lol.

Sounds great. We always do potatoes and onions and seasonings then when there about done add cheese. Looks delicious.

Sorry to but in, but thats my favorite side when camping, is potatoes/onions, etc in foil, with a ton of melted cheddarjack.  I now need that!

Hey no problem they are good we use American cheese. But we've done baked potatoes too. Set em and forget them cuz they take awhile.

Added some feta cheese and seasoned salt at the end.  Was good but I would go with traditional baked potato condiments next time.

use gutter nails inserted into tater and wrap in foil. I've had many rare baked taters from a wood fire lol

We ground up 4 shanks, 2 hearts, 2 livers and some sausage.  We didn’t weigh the meat and probably made a wetter mixture than the recipe called for… but it’s not dry at all, and we’ll do it the same next time.

Not bad.  We chopped everything and ground it together.  I know what you mean tho… liver can have some strange textures.  Not a pate fan??
