I got a bear bow last year from dicks. I had a $100 off a single item costing $300 or more coupon. At the same time they had a sale on bows, basically a 100 dollar discount price. I walked out of the store with a ~$400 bow for ~$200 bucks. Also, it was one of those ready to hunt packages with sight, quiver and stabilizer. 

 

Took it home, spent 30 minutes to sighing in and voila awesome cheap bow that will  last me a very long time. 

 

Wait till the holidays or after bow season, there will likely be an awesome sale. Also, see if you can lurk around the internet for crazy coupons like the one I had and use it during a big sale. Sometimes big stores need to move high price ticket items and do it with these.

Buy a long bow or a recurve. When you get good with either you can shoot almost anything.

I'd say 400 max. I've bought enough rifles that this might make the misses kill me

When you look at bows, keep in mind the additional cost such as arrows, broadheads, a release, a case, and range time.

Used adjustable bow off archerytalk, I bought a diamond bow on there for 200 got a new string for 50 an added accesories I had. It shoots just as good as my new hoyt

I'd take a look at a bear or a diamond. In the past I would have said look for a used bow but I did that last year and after the cost of the bow and to get it tuned up at the shop I'd look at a new bow

Unless you have to have a new Bow there are some really good deals to be found at most archery/sporting shop's.it will also help if you know someone that is already into archery to go with you so you have some idea what is the wright choice

You're buying used then off eBay or check out the PSE Bow packages at dicks sporting goods. The. You've got devastator arrows right now that are cheap but work.

I've told many people and I swear by it. The Diamond razor edge is a great bow. They say its a youth bow but im 6 foot tall and have no problem shooting it with comfort. The draw lenght and pounds are so adjustable.

Check em out it's well worth your time the reveiws on the bow are great as well.

i am new to archery this year and just picked up a parker eagle.  with 6 carbon arrows and field tips and a $35 release total was about $420.  shooting ok for 6 days straight at 20 yds on the back yd.  getting 5 out of 6 arrows in the 5 inch circle.   getting better every time i go to practice.  shooting about 35-45 arrows a day.

PSE Stinger is a great beginner package. Comes with everything but arrows and release.

Most entry level bows are $400 for the package.  Package would include bow, sight, arrow rest, and quiver.  Look at the $400 packages available, then go to the shop and try them out.  Hold them in your hand, draw them back, etc.  Pick the one that just feels better and more comfortable in your hand.

Another suggestion would be if you bought too many rifles sell one or trade in and put it towards the bow.
