Last day hunt....come on deer 2 tags to fill and I'll tag out.....actually in a stand today for first time sence bow....good luck all

Woke up at 4 am.. Something told me to get out in the field before this front moved in, Sure enough deer moved, in legal light too. Lined up on a big doe, but 250 yards. No way I'm taking that shot. Moved slowly down to 100 yards. Where there is one deer, their is more, Sure enough, her 2 fawns were following. I lined up on both, but just couldn't pull the hammer back because of size. One more try this afternoon.

At my uncles in 9H hoping for a look at a big 5x5 that he has spotted a couple times this season, last sighting being yesterday morning, have my bow instead of muzzleloader this year.

And it's pouring here.

Rain rain rain....had to relocate to a stand with a roof lol....just a way way longer drag if something walks by....snow should help the drag tho....

Shoulda brought the muzzleloader, I took a walk after lunch with the bow. I walked behind one of the ponds toward an area that is relatively open. I notice three deer about 200 yards out. Two bucks and an antlerless. Sure enough one of them is the 10 point. I decided to work towards them with my bow in hand but at about 80 yards I was spotted and they casually trotted off into the brush. Oh well, I chose the bow for a reason. Had a good season no regrets, although that was hard to take lol

That stinks. What's the reason you chose bow?

For one I do enjoy bowhunting more, but my main reason is that I falied to shoot my muzzleloader before the season and I wouldn't feel comfortable taking a shot at a deer without knowing for sure how my gun was shooting.

A holes ain't fooling anyone or least not me with the shotgun in these hills. Single shots are kabooms and not ml. And the multiple shots says it all

Went out one final time today with the bow. Sat from 9-5. Ended up seeing 11 does/fawns (passed on all of them) and the small 1 or 2 year old 8 point again. Put the cameras out and will be watching to see what has made it through the season. Ended up putting 7 deer in the freezer so it was a good year.

Sat from 7 am till 430 saw nothing from the stand jumped 3 moving spots to far for a shot. 2 with bow 2 with rifle 0 with ml overall good season had my chances at bucks but my own fault and nerves got the best of me. 2014 season is over and had a blast....good luck to guys going for the Jan special seasons....

Well, it's all over till Oct 1 15' . My best year ever has come to a close ! Treeguy is one thankful hunter. NOW, on to killin dogs, then she'd hunting, then spring gobblers, then fishin, the scouting, then food plots, then.... well, we will see !

Dog gone it, we had 27 deer come in after 4:50 this afternoon, then lost count.  Not an antler among them. Some of the body sizes suggested  we start looking for sheds.

Glad you still had those numbers at the end of season.. That spells a happy 2015!

Good final day of the season ended it with a big doe right before dark. Got 3 does and a big body 6 on the year best season so far as meat hunting goes.

Actually, anyone that really knows me wouldn't have to ask any of those questions.  Sunset was 4:39 and I was unloaded 15 minutes before that due the the central dense overcast.

 

I  kept saying we have a lot of deer here. Those were the ones that showed during daylight. The thickets were moving with action with loads of  nocturnal ones. Little worried if we have a harsh winter what the survival rate will be.
