Reporting a Harvest

I thought I would try doing the on-line reporting but didn't like the idea of leaving my driver's licence # and some of the other required info .

After calling and listening to a bunch of worthless info , I was informed that the reporting was closed at 4:30 pm . I had tried at 8 pm . It used to be very simple to do . Looks like they fixed something that used to work .

That's too funny.  Unreal but par for the course, the old system just started working good and like you said they had to "Fix it" and make it better.  Now it's broken, again.

I called late last night and went through the asinine conversation with a robotic voice- worked fine - they rattle off the confirmation number though. I had to listen three times to get it

ive often wondered how many actually reports, i delay it for as long as i can its just a hassle (i still do it in 24 hr timeframe)

Boy if its this hard for us with computers and phones imagine how hard it is for the Amish to report.  Why does this state always make things more complex then it needs to be?  They require you to report yet make it impossible for some and hard for everyone else.  Stupid.

I have 7 days to report it . It may take that long ......

I'm no Luddite, but I liked the old mail in card. Fill out the card in the field along with your tag,toss it in mailbox as you pull into driveway.......

I guess it saves them the trouble of transferring the info off all the cards into the system .

Larry --- That was too easy and made sense with the card . The DEC reminds me of where I worked for 35 years . We would have a system that worked and the new management would come in and change it and we would spend the next couple years trying to make it work .

Your drivers license number is already in their database, and its a state system. Nothing to worry about creating an account. Your ATM card and credit card numbers are in more danger everytime you swipe them at a store. Its super easy to report online.

I didn't want to put that info on the register because it said you are leaving the DEC site . Call me paranoid ...............

Well , slap my ass and call me Sally . I finally got a live body to talk to and got'r done ! When asked for the Doc # in the left hand corner , I used the number there but it is my ID # . There is no Doc # on the tag . It got printed at the bottom of the previous tag . Anyway it's a done deal and I checked the rest of my deer tags to be sure things are okay .

I like the computer reporting. Straight forward, simple, and I get a print-out that proves I did it in case that were ever to come into question.
