Assuming we're talking about treestand seat cushions? Sitting on a wet cushion will eventually soak thru & make you cold. Carry in a $5-10 seat cushion! If you wear camo pants & jacket, the gap between is susceptible to cold &/or wind. That will radiate up your spine and might be mistaken for a cold butt. I went to bibs & never had that problem again!

Second only to the compound bow, Grabber hand & toe warmers are the greatest hunting invention(s) of all time!!!!!

I agree....but sitting on a heated seat that can be turned on and off should really help with keeping your core warm....I'm all about it, who 4 hour charge is plenty for what I'd use it for.

Wonder how many charge cycles that thing is rated for?

I did not find any specs on their website, but I'm sure its comparable to most rechargeable devices.

been using the hot seats for years until seam stitching started to go and the fill was coming out.  The ~$10 one from Dick's works well.  Butt stays warm while sitting in freezing temps until I stand up.

If it is your back that is cold, options are to use:

  • bibs
  • insulated coveralls
  • longer coat
  • mega-warmer on your lower back by your kidneys (either the standard tuck-in or the self-adhesive

The mega-warmer on the lower back feels great when when you lug out a heavy tree stand (or late fall backpacking trip).  Keeps the muscles a little more relaxed and less stiff by the time you are out of the woods.

Just saw Walmart carrying Allen camo seat cushions with a pocket to put a warmer in it for $15 plus cost of a warmer.

Using a 10-12 hour mega-warmer in it, that would be about 42 all-day sits to equal the cost of the battery powered one that lasts 4 hours.

I know I do not have 42 days that I can deer hunt in a single year.  Or need a heated seat for hunting for most of the season.

If the battery re-charges quickly and I went to Friday night high school football games, it may be something to splurge for.  Exposed metal bleachers get really cold.  Eight years of marching band and field competitions, I froze my butt off.  Mom and dad had their seat cushions to block the cold from the metal bleachers from seeping through pants and thermals.

If dead set on the battery power, buy an extra battery. The colder it is, the faster they drain.
