turkeyfeathers
Put my Winchester 1300 (shoot blue 2.75") with rifled barrel and Aimpoint 9000 and Remington 870 (shoot black 3") cantilever and Bushnell scope on paper the other day just to make sure they're on. Both 2.5 " high at 50 yards which makes them perfect at 125. Fired 2 from each gun off of rest , all touching. Out of pump guns these things rattled my teeth but managed not to crescent moon myself with the scope (not that I've ever done that ) Been shooting these for a number of years now. Love the energy they dump. 2 consecutive years I found the slug under the skin and opposite shoulder of 2 does . One doe was a mere 10 yards with the black 3 " version. Feet collapsed right under her. Not sure why people whine about no exit for tracking. Goodness, there's no tracking involved if you make a decent shot. My ML needed some work. Shooting new loads this year. Now that took some time to dial in. New loads were about 15 " high right at 50 yards than old loads. FYI on the Lightfields. Dicks nor Gander had them. Had to grab them from Cabela's. They changed the boxes too so don't overlook them if you're going to buy some. Anyone ever shoot their 3.5 " slugs. My shoulder hurts just thinking about it. November 15th can't get here quick enough!
sits in trees
Man I can remember hunting with a slug gun back in the 70s in Dutchess county, I used your basic Remington slugs and my Mossberg Duck pump action with vent rib and smooth barrel. I never got results like that, I was lucky to hit a large pizza at 100 yds. They sure have come a long way...

Red
Breneke ko. They shot really good out of my Mossberg 500 with a 28" bird barrel. I'm gonna spend the next couple of weeks trying to get good with my super redrawn 44 mag I want that to be my go to gun this year
First-light
I love Remington copper tops. I do shoot the Lightfield though.
ants
I have been shooting Lightfield 2 3/4" out of my Winchester 1300 since 1996. The gun is topped with a 2.5-4.5x32 scope. I won't switch slugs until Lightfield goes out of business. These things are crazy accurate ( at least out of my gun) and devastating on deer. I have killed a pile of deer with this slug and they are the real deal. The last deer I took with a Lightfield was two years ago. It was a good buck at about 75 yards. He went down and kicked and thrashed himself about 15 yards. That was it. Good stuff if you can find it.

cdmckane
Nothing buy Hornady in my slugger. 20g SST slugs in my Savage 220F are straight deadly at 225+ yds. I took a 225 shot on a doe last season and after seeing how the round performed (dropped her in her tracks and awesome wound channel), I won't hesitate to go to 275 this season. Yes, I'm zeroed that far.
Terry
Before it was legal to use rifles, I used lightfields. They definitely hit like a ton of bricks!
philoshop
I've recovered a handful of Lightfield slugs from deer that still had the bases/wads attached. Not sure if that's normal, but they sure do pack a punch when they end up being the size of a quarter!
ny hunter
Someone gave me Lightfields years ago, most accurate slug I have ever shot..
turkeyfeathers
Yes, the plastic wadding is supposed to stay attatched to slug. I contacted Lightfield after finding the 2nd one still locked on. They told me its to help flight control and accuracy
