NeverSeenNorHeard
Ok, so I'm in search of a tasty marinade. I have had it only from a local butcher shop that wont divulge their recipe. I usually get it on these pre-marinated skirt steaks. The marinade tastes sweet and savory. The marinade definitely has oil, something sweet, (thinking molasses or honey?) and possibly worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar. Does anyone have a recipe for a marinade that has these ingredients? I know its hard to explain how something tastes via keyboard but I'm at a loss and that marinade is fantastic! Please post if you have something similar! Thanks in advance!

fasteddie
I am too lazy to make my own marinade . I prefer to buy the McCorrmick package Peppercorn - Garlic and love the stuff . All that is necessary to add to the mix is oil , water and vinegar . Simple , quick and delicious .

DirtTime
For red meat/deer Mix this all in a bowl, then toss the meat in the bag/bowl 1/2 cup of Worchestire Sauce 2 tbpn fresh garlic minced 1/4 cup fresh minced onion 2 drops "Liquid Smoke" 1 tspn Paprika 1 tspn black pepper ( fresh ground ) Do not add salt! The Worchestire Sauce and the Liquid Smoke will add all the salt you need. Let sit for at least 6 hours in the marinade. Grill or pan fry and you got it. __________________________________________________________ Anyone who puts katsoup on meat........................ Zem18
http://www.spiedie.com/ I've posted this before. You will not be disappointed, I promise. This is how you get your kids to eat venison. I use the state fair sauce and slice the backstraps in thin boneless chop cuts and marinate in a Ziploc for at least 24hrs but the longer the better. Throw on the grill and it melts in your mouth. I like the coke, ketchup, and garlic idea. If you want to make it sweeter, try Dr pepper or root beer. NeverSeenNorHeard
put some deer in the coke/ketchup mixture this morning. Just got home - empty propane tank on the grill and the backup is on the camper at my fathers place! Not driving to town and back. It may be sacrilege but its got to get done on the stove... NeverSeenNorHeard
Well the verdict is in. It was pretty good. Probably the grill issue kept it from reaching it's full potential. Thanks for the recipe idea.
philoshop
One of my favorite marinades is "zesty' Italian salad dressing. The cheap stuff works just fine. A little worcestershire sauce will give it some tang if you want, or a little catsup will sweeten it. It's just really simple and tastes great.
