Rifle Scopes

I am looking for a range scope, that wont break the bank. I was wondering about Redfied, Burris or Nikon. Any thoughts? It will be a for a Marlin XL7 30-06, Thanks

how far will you be shooting?  I've got multiple Nikon 3-9x40mm scopes and they all work good and seem to hold zero.

I would choose the Nikon if those were my three choices.............

If it's just range I think any bargain scope will work. In my opinion a good scope has good glass in low light, doesn't fog and can take a few bumps. I wouldn't worry so much about that at the range.

Redfeld was bought by Leuopold a few yrs ago, i bought one of their range finders... really nice for the money

All three of the manufacturers you mentioned have good budget priced options.  The Nikon Pro Staff series and the Redfield Revolution scopes have gotten excellent reviews over the years.  I have one of each and find them to be excellent, especially for the price.  I can't say much about Burris though, having never owned one.

I have 3 Nikon Pro Staff scopes and they all work fine....One on a 30-06,and 270 and a 243. And have taken deer with all rifles..decent scope for the money.

I have a pro staff on a 30-06, I use that for Hunting and Range, I just picked up another 30-06 to use soley as a range gun, so just looking for something to go out and fire a few rounds here and there at the range. Thank you for the input

What is not breaking the bank and what type of magnification? You mention range shooting, how far? If you're only shooting out to 200 yards you don't "need" a super high magnification. Check out Vortex riflescopes. They're a good quality scope that come with a lifetime warranty. I have 2 and would compare their quality with Leupold but at a cheaper price. I have a Redfield Revolution 4X12 40mm I'm willing to sell. Hardly used. Have not figured out how much I'm going to let it go for. Been so busy, have not thought much into it as of yet.

The price is sending jobs to China & the Phillipeans. Only their top end scopes are made in USA.

 

IMO the made in USA Leupold is a far better bargain.
