Paula
I am hoping that last years members will be participating in this years hunt, the stories were very nice to read and i am sure you all had a great time with the kids. Do we have other members that will be taking a youth out or know of anyone that would like to enter? Would be great to hear the stories they will have at the end of the hunt.
MACHINIST
I will be taking my nephew out,not sure if he would right a story though. He has only turkey hunted once and heard no birds that day.He is hooked for deer and I bet turkeys will be no different once the roost explodes with gobbles!!

wooly
This will be my son's first year. Can't wait for the youth hunt, we're both really excited. He should tell us about it here..... http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/27007-early-bird-contest-to-the-youth-hunt-contest-deadline-to-enter-is-april-15/ A simple show of enthusiasm could land him a nice prize before the first turkey of the 2015 youth season rolls.
Two Track
The plan is to take my daughter out, but haven't ben able to get her into a class nearby. She does have after-school stuff she is involved in, which doesn't help in scheduling. This wil be her first year to go out hunting. She helped skin and clean squirrels, so there is no gross factor, just have to see the patience and quietness come out hopefully.
HectorBuckBuster
Yep, my daughter can't wait. May take out a friend or two of her's. I love seeing all the young girls that are getting into hunting. When my daughter took her hunters safty class, the class was 75 percent girls, and the rest where boys.
MACHINIST
My daughter tried last year,I had a group of 5 jakes in front of her 2 different days and she couldn't pull the trigger.I was so happy she didn't because I would rather have her not if she doesn't want to kill anything. She is very kind hearted and doesn't have it in her.
Sogaard
It's a bad weekend for me, but I am hoping to same my boys out on Sunday morning. They each got their first deer last fall, I'm hoping to get them their first turkeys this year.

G-Man
Well my nephew is distracted by those a aluring females so not sure he will be hunting, but a friend asked if I would take her daughter... I grew up in a house of boys and only have nephews.. not sure if I should push her as hard as I do my nephew ( hiking to areas ,ect) girls are tough right? I want her to really enjoy it but one day to hunt for her I dont know if pushing her hard 1- 2 mile walk in dark to best area will Taint her. Any advise? Paula
Yes girls are tough! Don't baby her, maybe warn her that you will be pushing her. It will be a good thing for her.
MACHINIST
Physically I wouldn't baby her but don't kill her either.Take her out to do some scouting and see how she does. She may surprise you and push you ya old fart!!HAHA I know I let my daughter set the pace, she got up and we usually hunted till around 9-10 and she was beat so we called it quits.
G-Man
Yeah I am a pretty agressive hunter and I know my area very well and can get on a rooted bird pretty easily . It's moving thru the woods interested dark i worry about I don't use a flash light and like to get in close 50 yards or so .. hard to do with a nephew ,and if she's like her mom can't see in the dark at all.. WNY Bowhunter
The youth that I took out for the past two springs is too old this year, but he has a younger brother that is going to go. There have been four big old longbeards hanging out on the farm where we killed last year's bird. Hopefully, they will stick around for a few more weeks. Last year...all done by 6:00!!! Big Indian
does the youth need their own account on the site?
letinmfly
does the youth need their own account on the site? No they don't. I would prefer that they write the story.
