Top ramen
Well, I an from broome County, NY and purchased a lifetime hunting license before moving to Ohio. I do return to NY every fall for an annual 'Bear Hunt' in the Adirondacks, near Inlet. I hunt Ohio but find they have an extremely short gun season. I hunt muzzleloader in NY and Ohiovand would love to hunt with my remington 700 in 30-06 more. (cannot in Ohio) I camped ASP this past summer and found interest outside the park at the South Valley State Forest. I am interested in the area this year and would be spending 1 -2 weekends hunting. I also spend a little time on Oak Orchard Creek with my Young ones. Any help with the nuances of the region and potential overnight accomodations or camp spots would be greatfully appreciated. fishuntrapper
asp is open for camping during the all hunting seasons. also you may camp up to three nights on state forest land with out a camping permit. pine hill state forest is close to south valley and also has places to park and is good hunting as well. there are motels/hotels in salamanca plus the casino has room$$$$$ . good hunting where ever you stay. Dr Ignominious Death
Spent 4 days in 9H. First day saw one buck (no shot) and a fawn. Tons of hunters and tons of shots. Next few days were wicked windy and nothing was moving. this morning I walked deep into the woods and spooked a deer 20 feet away at 530 AM. Sat still and saw nothing the rest of the morning. It was very cold, 21 degrees and I lost hope and left the area around 10AM.

I had a doe come past my stand and she never winded me,a small victory i guess.
