Whats a good bait for coyotes?

New to trapping and was wondering what I should use as bait for coyotes. Thanks in advance.

I like to use a skunkier smelling call lure and some pee....maybe kludes and some of the others could chime in too....and another thing a old timer told me at a trapping show was to use fox pee bc if use yote pee it may scare off foxes from a potential catch too

Hate to say it but a gut pile !  I've never seen a gut pile from a deer last more than one day in the woods I hunt .  I realize gut piles are not readily available and probably does not help with your question but its just an observation !

Road kill, especially that of a deer.  Rebar the kill to the ground so the yotes can't pull it away.  Put a indicator on the deer so when it gets moved it triggers a doorbell in your house and BAM!!!  I'm just saying...

I don't, I'm just saying.  Btw, I know 3 people who had deer/car collisions this year.  With a police report they are entitled to the keep the deer if they wish.  What I'm saying is if you really want you could get road kill.

There's a lot of good baits available. Check out www.fntpost.com and you'll see the wide variety available.

That being said , I've always liked Carrol Black and Russ Carman lures and baits.

Try a large wooden crate with "ACME" painted on it in black.

Night Owl makes some great lures/baits. They are located in NYS.

Please do not place traps close to bait piles without covering the bait so that it's not visible from above. Otherwise it's illegal and you risk catching raptors.

I like a good flat set or a scent post. Good luck and anchor that trap well
