WNY Bowhunter
This guy was spotted a couple of days ago...I want his antlers bad!!! It would be greatly appreciated if he would leave them laying just like this: Edited January 29, 2016 by WNY Bowhunter
Lawdwaz
Shed horns are so damned neat! To think they grow them EVERY year too......wow.
Rockspek
I've had a trail cam on a tree for a couple of months. Wouldn't you know the first shed I find was under leaves on the backside of the tree. Must be from last year.
Nomad
I put these in the old thread , might as well post in the correct one too. Found yesterday although the green one is old.
growalot
All the buck around here and I rarely find any...usually it has a skull attached...too many swamps...and nothing worse than getting calf high in the mud during the winter...I think if I could walk the extensive pines around here I would find many..but I can't. genesee_mohican
I pulled cam cards yesterday and see some bald bucks, but most have both sides. I have one cam video taken yesterday am that has 5 bucks with both sides. 2 were sparing. I'll keep tabs on them and should have a good place to find some sheds in a few weeks.
Deadhunter25
The same can be said for me in Westchester. I spotted a few dinky ones with a half a rack but most still have both sides. Ill probably wait until I go searching. Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk
PrimoSupreme
I keep seeing a lot of Bucks in my area still with both sides. I was recently told by a DEC biologist that a buck will not drop its horns if there is a doe in "heat" in the area. Not sure how true it is, but being he is a wildlife biologist he must have known what he was talking about.

Seems unlikely as the estrus period is about 24hrs

PrimoSupreme
Seems unlikely as the estrus period is about 24hrs That is also what I thought, but then again I don't work with or for the DEC. Then again they do not get everything right, I think we can all attest to that lmfao.

crappyice
Took a walk yesterday in some local westchester woods. Found a herd of about 16 deer-all bald but I haven't seen many bucks running with these ladies much this year. Not sure where the boys are hiding Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rockspek
I've been hitting the woods as hard as I can looking for sheds. So far a year old little 4 point and this skull. skull must be from a while ago. It was just teeth bone and antler. looking at the teeth this was not an old dear at all. Where's everybody else's finds? I know they're out there.
JGS
So I decided to hit the the woods before the lake effect hit yesterday morning. I found at least 10 sheds and got pictures of a few of them, but I think I have a different species of shed antler in my woods. They will not stay still long enough for me to pick them up!!!!
beachpeaz
I found 3 last week. 2 freshies and one from last year. With that said, almost every other deer I have seen still is packing. With this cold snap and the fact that they all should be getting close, my bet is the next 2 weeks should get hot.
crappyice
Found 1!! Mice chewed it up pretty bad though. I found it in the same spot I found my first shed three years ago. Same deer??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

blackradio
Saw 3 bucks today with 4 does when I pulled up to a job in Westchester. It was a thin racked 6, a 4pt and a spike I think. Surprised they still had their racks.
