For the ability to play diverse characters, I like Johnny Depp and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman (worked with his mom at one point).  But I tend to like action flicks best and as you might expect, I like Eastwood, pacino, early deniro, etc.  I like Ed Norton quite a bit too.
