NY legal Rage broadheads

I want to try Rage broadheads but I am not sure which specific models are NY legal. I would prefer to find out prior to spending 45 bucks... Thanks.

all are legal. they don't lock in place so they don't get stuck in the deer like fish hooks

 

unless they have a set that I am not aware off. just google the set you want and make sure they don't lock in place. watch a vid of em

3 blades couldn't fold back and are considered barbed and illegal in NY. Unless they have changed the design.

The 3 blades are illegal due to the head design, this particular design, (when pulled rearward after deployment) the blades will catch on one another and not allow them to fold forward. They have been illegal in NYS since they came out, a picture of that particular 3 blade has even been used in the regulations book a few times now I believe, to show it is illegal.

If you do want some 3 blade, I bought from Walmart last fall (it no longer has them this year for some reason), Torid SS. They were about $14/pack and 80 grain with 20 grain collars to bring the weight up if desired. Blades don't lock in place.

this comes up every year, there is enough doubt about the 3 blade Rage being legal why even risk it? if you do a search you'll find more then enough info saying that they are not legal, so use them at your own risk.

Thanks everyone. Looks like 3 blades are out. I'll check the 2 blade designs, they have 3 or 4 different ones.

if you put it where it belongs, you won't need that 3rd blade.

I've used the 2 blade rage. Only input is make sure you are shooting 55 + lbs. Never had a pass threw shooting 50lbs. Went back to slick tricks fixed and have gone threw both shoulders

Personally dont like the size of rage. Love shwacker though. Fly like fieldpoints for me out to 40. Farthest ive shot

Good to know, my bow is currently set at 50lbs.

They make a head for lighter poundage bows, Rage SS. Specifically designed for lower poundage and low KE bows.

Low poundage should use cut on contact. After back surgery i was down to 50lbs and the Stingers were still blowing thru.

my brother bow hunts and uses rage 2 blade. this is the exit hole on one he got. With a hole like that I would think 3 blade would be pointless.

Rage extreme 2 blade. You will love them. They have never failed me. They come with a practice tip and that's cool but they also shoot like field points

He just posted that he only draws 50lbs and you recommend one of the largest diameter heads on the market? Not wise.

If you're shooting low poundage I would take Four Seasons advice and go with the Magnus Stingers.

50 pound pull is fine for a Rage 2 blade. There is a diamond razor edge that gets used at camp with a 50 pound pull and it works like a charm. Rage leaves massive wounds pulling a little lighter would be all the more reason to use the most devastating broad head possible!!

Yea, less draw equals less energy lets shoot one of that vest broad heads that are made. Yes when rages stay together they are devastating. I would rather have a 1" cut broadhead make 18"s of lent ration than a 2" cut make 6"s of penetration. Use what ever you want but your was of thinking isn't correct.

I've been shooting the 2 blade chisel tips for about 5 years.  They are tougher than the others it seems.  Or I bought into the hype...

Fixed blades are the way to go! I shoot both G5 monotech, and muzzy trocar.... Have arrows with both in my quiver and what ever I pull when I get in the stand is what gets used

The G5's are nice but honestly who's got time to sharpen blades.  I hate to say it but Rage heads make things idiot proof (which is just fine with me).
