Are you going to take us through the process on this thread? I know shockingly little about taxidermy and would love to see it

You got some kind of an ugly rack syndrome out there or something. LOL

Archers see how far away from a target they can get and still hit the bullseye.
Bowhunters see how close they can get and make a clean kill.

And my hunting career has been stuck at stage #1 of taxidermy. Shoot something worthy of mounting

i second the play by play if you would

I'm with you TF. I hope my day for a wall hanger is coming. I'm young so I have plenty of time.

for someone who hasn't been doing it as long as others your mounts do come out really well.  I'm sure whomever you mount a deer for they'll be happy.  keep the pictures coming.

Haven't measured him out Biz, but I would guess you are within a few inches either way.  I will let you know once we do.

I've grown up in 8P and have handled hundreds of deer from the area and none have come remotely close to this guy for ticks!

I wonder what the difference is, ive been lucky to only have a few ticks crawl on me that i was aware of, and yet to have to pull one from my skin. The dog a time or two but.. No joke every deer ive taken down there has been literally covered in ticks.. I had them crawling around my car when i brought the cape and antlers to the taxi last fall..

This area always has tons of ticks.  My taxi on a buck the last 2years said the same.  I literally flicked off at least 10 after dragging him

Here's a sample of one ear. Pulled him out of the freezer this morning...hopefully they're dead now. Need to get him caped and to my tanning guy this afternoon.
