Lawdwaz
9.5/10 when I'm watching a hunting show and the temperatures are cold where they're hunting the "stars" are always wearing a baseball hat. Inevitably all they have on is a fairly light looking jacket too! I don't know about you guys/gals but I'm bundled up like the Michelin Man. Once in a great while they'll yank a winter hat OVER their ball cap. To me that's about the most uncomfortable way to wear a hat.......... WTH is up with these guys? Doc
Clothing variation is always a big problem with me. When things get cold, I start piling on the layers. Next thing I know, I am having collisions between the string and all the puffed out clothing. Also I can get so much clothing on that it starts effecting my stance and head positioning. Most times I wind up having to make sight adjustments depending on what I'm wearing. This year, I am going with a heated (electric) jacket to keep the bulk down, but still stay warm enough. The guys on TV don't have to dress too heavy because they just have to stay warm enough to last until the guys chase the deer out of the pen and past the stand.......lol.
Buckmaster7600
I dress light myself but I don't spend much time in a stand. When hunting with new people in often asked "that's what you're wearing?" I also wear my toque over my baseball hat but mostly because it keeps my sunglasses from fogging. growalot
Me too...it's two jackets and insulated underwear,a fleece shirt and at least 3 layers on the legs...Mr.B" How the hell do you walk let alone draw a bow?" Lol I have a Cabelas camp extreme weather suit...old. That is just one layer under in really cold hunting...but it's way bulkier than all the layers....but I have sat 8 hours in 10 below zero at camp in that using my slip on boot insulators, full mask and ski goggles. My thing is...where are their breaths??? They whisper...We had a cold front move through last night, it's 28 degrees,,they should be on their feet. Not a breath to be seen...I did that and it would look like I had a fog machine shooting out of my head...lol
G-Man
Because cold to them is 30 degrees.. Or they live in the tundra at -20 all winter so 30 is a heat wave..like wearing shorts in the spring when it's 50 out after being bundled up in the 20s all winter
Tughill Tamer
I generally dress alot lighter than most people I hunt with. I very rarely wear any long johns or any gloves and and usually I just wear a camo cap no tuke. If it's wicked windy I will pull up my hood on my jacket. I especially dress very light on the walk in nothing worse than working up a sweat on your way to your stand. I have never been one to get cold easy but I don't take the heat well.Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Jeremy K
I dress according to how I plan to hunt ,as the season goes on and I stop seeing anything ,I'll dress light and stay on my feet moving all day ,I'd be a sweaty beast if I tried that with clothes I wear for so just sitting on my butt all day. grampy
It could be -10°, and the hunting "stars" still have to wear the baseball caps with their "sponsor's" logo. And to not cover up the pretty face, with all the make up for the "lady stars". After the camera captures the money shot, they quickly put on the balaclava, and shiver uncontrollably! Like the rest of us mere mortals.
bugsNbows
I solved the problem of star stupidity and overload... I quit watching all of those crap shows years ago. They are so far fetched from reality it is absurd.
