I hunt with a myoelectric prosthetic.  I typically just wear long sleeves.  If its raining hard, or if you yourself can't get a thick long sleeve over the casted arm, I would saran wrap the arm in a bunch of layers.  You can lean forward a bit also to use your upper body to roof over the affected arm.

DUCT TAPE sounds like a gfreat idea

I had a bad one..with orders no weight or lose foot.. cast all of foot to knee and new steel plate and screws in leg and ankle..cried until Mr B wrapped me up in a 55 gal. Garbage bag with duct tape grabbed some pillows and drove me to a  brush turkey blind. I  crawled in with his help and he set me up with the pillows for elevation and a cell phone and water and gun..kissed me and said when you can't  handle it anymore call me..still in  walking cast in fall he bought me my first climber and I bow and gun hunted with a full leg walking cast...

I used one of these for showering when I had a toe to knee cast on leg for a broken ankle. I tried the garbage bag and duct tape but it still let water in. This worked great, not a drop of water.

A few years back, a friend of mine arrowed his best buck ever from a wheelchair with a broken leg. Covered up with a camo blanket, wheeled out back to the woods, backed into some brush. After he shot him he laid on to the ground and gutted then crawled back to house. Called stepson to get him in house and recover deer a couple hours later. He was in his late 60's at the time.
