Dom
Anyone ever hunt while being in a cast? How would you or did you keep from getting the cast wet?
rachunter
I had a broken wrist in a cast during the late shot gun season. It didn’t rain but I had one of those shower bags they sell for washing in my backpack. Those long gutting gloves would work as well. Zem18
Flexi dip it. thats the rubber spray in a can by Rustoleum.Flex seal too. If it can seal that boat the guy cuts in half and then rides around in it, it has to work on a cast.Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
Cabin Fever
They sell rubber coverings that allow you to shower without getting casts wet! I used them when I had my foot and ankle surgery.
mowin
When I was 16 I had a full length leg cast. Didn't stop me from hunting. I was tape a garage bag around the cast. Mom wasn't pleased with me, but she sure wasn't stopping me.
Zuke
I’d go the removable route... bag or plastic wrap.

Bionic
I hunt with a myoelectric prosthetic. I typically just wear long sleeves. If its raining hard, or if you yourself can't get a thick long sleeve over the casted arm, I would saran wrap the arm in a bunch of layers. You can lean forward a bit also to use your upper body to roof over the affected arm.
Bionic
I like the garbage bag idea too, some are vanilla scented, could double as a deer/bear attractant. Edited November 19, 2017 by Bionic

Garbage bag with duct tape grabbed some pillows and drove me to a brush turkey blind. I crawled in with his help and he set me up with the pillows for elevation and a cell phone and water and gun..kissed me and said when you can't handle it anymore call me..still in walking cast in fall he bought me my first climber and I bow and gun hunted with a full leg walking cast... MPHunter
I used one of these for showering when I had a toe to knee cast on leg for a broken ankle. I tried the garbage bag and duct tape but it still let water in. This worked great, not a drop of water. https://www.amazon.com/Duro-Med-Cover-Waterproof-Protector-Inches/dp/B000FHDV68/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511119025&sr=8-4&keywords=leg+cast+cover
DDT
A few years back, a friend of mine arrowed his best buck ever from a wheelchair with a broken leg. Covered up with a camo blanket, wheeled out back to the woods, backed into some brush. After he shot him he laid on to the ground and gutted then crawled back to house. Called stepson to get him in house and recover deer a couple hours later. He was in his late 60's at the time.
