It was a good day ,except for that one little mishap . I'm already excited to figure how to shoot unknown distances with fixed pins.

Some recent shots. Still need to get up in a tree or in a blind, shoot with hunting clothes on, and shoot with a broadhead instead of a field point.

Two guys went out hunting early one morning but by noon had not seen a thing. One of the men went behind a tree to relieve himself when a rattle snake bit him on his manhood. He screamed at his friend to quick run back to the truck, drive to town and bring back the doctor.

His friend took off as fast as he could. He found the only doctor at the hospital and told him to come quick, his friend had been snake bit !  The doctor said he couldn’t leave as there had just been a bus wreck and that patients would soon be coming in. The doctor told the man to make a small cut at the bite and suck out the poison and then bring him in.

The man goes back to the woods to his friend who is bewildered not to see the doctor. He explained the doctor couldn’t leave because of the bus accident. His friend said “well what did the doctor say?”

His friend replied “The doctor said your going to die !”

This afternoon I shot from a treestand for the first time, 20 yards away. These were from a standing position.

Different lane. Still 20 yards, this time from a sitting position. Not as good, need to work on that.

sitting changes things a little,it is great you are practicing the real deal now. I hope a deer comes by you within 20 yds. I have not shot one farther than that yet,but i only got a handful so far.

Brushed in a blind today where I planted a food plot. I don't plan to hunt it for at least 2 weeks from now. I didn't have my bow with me but it seems that because of the height of the windows I'll need to kneel down to get the arrow in the right spot. Is that the usual stance in a blind?
Also the blind has shoot through windows.....doesn't that affect arrow flight?
I am rethinking the ground blind now......

It is down at the lowest level.  Any shorter and I think my bow limbs will hit my knees.

I’m in a tree stand until I get a chance to dry run it with a target.

It looks that blind is sagging a bit in spots. It could just be my eyes.

I would not shoot a broadhead through those screens if you haven't tried it during the process of shooting at targets to get ready. It's not like shooting through a sheet of paper to paper tune. It's cloth, and I have always felt that it would screw up the natural flight of the arrow and slow it down. First the BH hits, possibly hindering the rotation, then the vanes/feathers hit possibly causing even more error in the arrow flight. I took the screens out of my blinds for just this reason. I would have to think a mech BH would be even worse. But, this is just my opinion, so perhaps others will chime in on this subject matter.

As for the seat, I have a couple chairs like this one, same company, different camo pattern:

https://www.ganderoutdoors.com/product/details?pdesc=Ameristep-High-Back-Ground-Blind-Chair&i=221527&CAWELAID=120030640000017133&s_kwcid=adwords__&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInrCzqfjj3QIVwVcNCh2f0QxBEAQYAyABEgJJDPD_BwE

They work well for me in the blinds and even sitting behind my natural brush blinds. I am not that tall so these work great for me.

I tried using my camping chairs in the blinds, but for bow, the arms were always in the way.

Thanks Rob, I figured it was a bad idea to shoot thru the mesh.  Not sure why they call it shoot thru mesh then!    I’ll have to lower the screens by a few inches to be able to shoot thru, but hopefully still not be seen.

The blind is not lopsided, I left the window fabric uneven to help hide it and make it look more natural.

This is the chair I have,  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M9GBAEK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have a chair just like yours too.  Maybe Ill try that one too.

I am always aligned to the side with my bow or a gun. I am right handed so I always set up to have the best vantage point and angle.

Good tip you brought up Biz on that one.

Thanks guys, I'm going to drag a target out there and throw a few arrows to see how it works.  I have shot at 3-d's off a bench at the Gun Club and was able to adapt pretty good there.  Just have a much tighter window here between the blind, the cover and a tree.  But I think it will be a great spot because it is a hidden food plot that I get a lot of pictures of feeding deer from.

Chapter 2: I shoot in a weekly league that is about 75% trad and 25% compound. One of the members does a lot of buying and selling of bows and offered to let me shoot a LH recurve he had purchased. Fun to shoot and seems to fit me pretty good. We struck a deal and one of the other members set me up with some arrows to shoot. Not putting down the Mathews, but it's fun to try new things! I may even shoot a round of recurve on one of the league nights.
