More lunacy - APRIL 20: A National Day of Action to Prevent Gun Violence in Schools

Recommended Posts

https://networkforpubliceducation.org/national-day-action/

AGAIN, their answer is more gun control.  Read what they support, it is full of more useless gun control.   I read nothing about:

·        Armed school security.

·        Hardening access points into schools.

·        Creating real reform schools for bullies and violent students to separate them from students who want to be civilized and get an education.

·        A real war on illegal drugs since yes, the root cause of the majority of gun violence is caused by the distribution, sale and use and use of illegal drugs.

·        Keeping violent criminals in jail for life.  Look up “William Spengler”, Cuomo’s SAFE Act poster boy.

·        Fixing the failed welfare system that has enabled fatherless families where the children are at a higher risk of becoming criminals or victims of crime.

And this is an organization of “educators”?  How did they miss all those solutions to gun violence listed above?

More “Gun Control” is best explained with the true statement that “Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results”.

What is it you want people to do? The NRA clearly can't battle the political battle of guns used in violent crimes, or stop the assault on 2A. We have kids stating they want guns banned ( which is a heart string tug and tear jerk way to get people on board ). So please, once and for all, tell us what you think should be done to stop any of this madness.

What a shame this is, what we have is the educators of our children and grand kids promoting their liberal, left wing, progressive ,gun hating agenda they aspire to.

They are putting normal education in a secondary position, putting their mindless drivel of removing all guns from our society{law abiding citizens},as the answer.

Needless to say, anyone that can logically think for themselves, understands the criminal will always have access to some tool of crime to use in their way of life.

even as a very pro gun guy, I sort of like the idea of teaching peaceful protest. Educating our children on their rights and actions that they can take in this free country. That to peacefully assemble and protest is just as american as owning a shotgun.

Nothing wrong with some civic pride and engagement to start finally holding Washington accountable for bull shit.

Oh the irony or freely exercising one right to remove another.

3 years from now this will be a distant memory for those not directly effected and by that time maybe these people protesting guns will have come to their senses. I find it funny how they are bashing Trump like it is his fault we had almost 2 decades of presidents to fix this and they didn't but let's just blame a man that was elected 4 months ago. They need a scapegoat and that is what Trump is. They are going to use kids as their forefront because they will pull in more followers to disarm the law abiding citizens. I'm done sugar coating anything, for anyone I tell them what they need to hear if they need a safe space then so be it go cry in the fetal position.

But you do agree that we all have the right to peacefully protest? There were examples of students who didn't peacefully protest. There are plenty examples recently of liberals not allowing conservatives to hold rallies (antifa and what not), but deep down... you do understand my point right?

I somewhat disagree with you on this. In three years from now some of these "kids" will become lawyers and possibly lawmakers that have not forgotten the experience(s) of their childhood. Unless they develop some common sense between now and then; gun owners are likely to be restricted more than ever based on knee jerk reactions instead of a common sense approach. Until such time they are able or willing to make decisions on their own instead of jumping on the band wagon with their classmates and friends when the in thing is "gun control" there will be more of a movement. Not many have the ability to think outside the box and address the real issues at hand especially when teachers and parents are pushing the agenda.

Remember the time schools walked out over the horrendous abortion numbers, or the death toll by prescribed medication and drunk driving, or the opioid epidemic, or the Obama administration forcing religious people to pay for abortion against their consciences ?

Me either.

nothing stopping anyone from doing that. Remember the marches on Albany after the safe act? I do.

My point again is that despite what the protest is over and whether we agree or not, we should continue to support the right and freedom to do so. Take that away and we're all doomed.

I absolutely believe they have the right. Even thought the rallies are organized by liberal teachers and Administrators, paid for by far left groups and most of the kids had no idea what they were even waling out for (besides getting some time out of the classroom).  I just find it ironic that they are exercising one right to remove/give up another.

While our students continue to fall behind foreign countries academically, they organize walk outs. How about they focus on getting these kids to walk in to class and actually learn something!!

On a side note...anyone else notice something about 99% of the pictures on the news of these “walkouts”? They are showing mostly black students, like the overwhelmingly majority are black. The few pics I’ve seen of white kids are the ones holding signs saying “pro 2nd amendment”. Just your liberal media hard at work!

Some but not many. Honestly we aren't going to get anywhere as a country until we stop blaming others and objects for a persons short comings. The most recent rumor is the outlawing of violent videos. I'm sorry but these video games have ratings on them if a parent gives them to a kid younger than the rating then it is on the parent. If parents would step up and do their job as a parent there wouldn't be these things going on. I know of many people that are immature during college doing stupid stuff and by the time they graduate and get into the "real world" their common sense has kicked in and see the world a totally different way. Unfortunately it doesn't happen when they're a liberal.

numbers were smaller than the media portrays of course. I might have worn my nra hat to school if i was a student lol. I also believe that the students planned the rally and the school districts "organized it" so that it remained peaceful and not disruptive. I'm ok with that. It was going to happen anyhow. Many schools also only had memorial or remembrance days, not protest. Again the media skewing things as usual.

not really sure anyone funded anything either? If my kids were old enough i would make it a point as their parent (like most should) to explain what is going on and why. That's maybe the failure.

Getting kids to actually show up would be the first step. Employers are seeing the same issues teachers see, they don't want to show up everyday and if they do they don't want to work. It's an epidemic and not getting any better.

there has been a big effort on education for a while now. Started with bush's no child left behind act and now some of the controversial "free college" stuff. It's a cultural problem in my opinion.

devos isn't helping lol.

You ain’t kidding. We see it down at the mill on a daily basis. Young kids get hired and fired so fast your head spins. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t even bother learning any new guys name until I’ve seen them around for more than a month. We literally had a kid lay down on the floor and crawl underneath a piece of moving machinery and take a nap at 10am!! Said he was tired and thought it was cool to take a quick power nap. . Ya know, from all that excruciating work standing up holding a air gun blowing flour dust off machines. I lose faith in the younger generations more and more each day. And these walkouts just add more fuel to my fire. I understand the right to free speech and all that, but when 99.9% of these students don’t even know what the hell they are talking about, I see it as nothing more than a sham that’s been promoted by the dems and liberals for more media attention with little to no thought of how it affects young impressionable minds.

I believe the future will be a big shock to these kids.  Today they protest against the 2nd Amendment, while ignoring real solutions or personal consequences for a criminal.  Of course they have a right to do that.  But they are going to be shocked when they accomplish they're goal of restricting an individual right, only to find that all of their own individual rights, including the right to protest, is severely infringed in the future.  To use an old worn out adage, It's a slippery slope.

Trust me, plenty of whites out there who'd be more than happy to take all your guns away.  The liberal media (that is run by whites) seems to be in love with black culture these days and tries to show them in a positive light every chance they get, but the reality is that there are plenty of whites out there who you need to blame before you come to the conclusion that it's majority blacks who are protesting here.  And the number of whites who are against you is growing every day and I don't see things swinging the other way as these kids grow up and leave school.

I think you might have misunderstood what I was trying to point out. I know there’s plenty of whites that want guns taken away, Hell I know a bunch of those types of idiots. I was just trying to point out that the media is plastering the faces of little black kids as the majority of those who are waking out in the pictures and short video segments I’ve seen. Really the only picture with more than 1 white kid has been the group pic of about 10 white students from the mid west holding the pro 2A signs. Of course the media loves blacks. They like using them as puppets for their “poor us” agenda. Look at us the poor black folk, ya know the ones you enslaved and didn’t let vote blah blah. And in reality, blacks mostly vote Dem because they love to eat up the social services that they provide to them, essentially making them eat right out the palm of their hands. I feel a bit sorry for blacks these days, at least 150 years ago they knew they were slaves. Now they are enslaved to the Democratic Party and 99.9% of them don’t even know it.

Excellent question Rob.

I want people that want to keep their firearms and be able to carry them for self defense to speak, write to the newspapers and their politicians gun control is not the answer.  Tell them that gun control does not work because it does not attack the root causes of gun violence.  I want to be clear as all of us should understand that GUN CONTROL is not GUN VIOLENCE CONTROL.  Gun control addicts are sick people.  Once I wrote Schumer with some real solutions to gun violence and six months later he sends me a letter thanking me for supporting animal rights!  Very sad a politicians acts like an idiot.  Another time some gun control professor was on the radio. i listened and took notes of his BRAVO SIERRA facts.  I called in and was given the opportunity to rip his lies apart.  He was livid and started loosing control.  He lost it because the truth unveiled his lies.  He became sarcastic, but I did not play into this liars hands.  I just "oh yeah ed" him which further set him off.

Everyone wants safer schools.  Given the choice what would work best, A or B?

A. - Raise the age to buy long guns to 21 and ban "military looking rifles' (sorry, i lived with an M16A1 and I would not insult my fully auto commie killer).

B. - Trained armed guards  (we have them for banks, military base entries, for Gov Cuomo and lots of other places so why not for school children?) at schools, better trained response from law enforcement if a shooter enters onto or into school property and harden access points into school to prevent an unauthorized breech.

I listed above in my opening comment many real solutions to fighting gun violence.  My buddy was a street cop with NYPD.  He told me that 2 out of 3 murders were linked to illegal drugs.  I believe him, NOT liars like Cuomo, Schumer and all the other gun control addicts..

The NRA is an organization that has been lied about and distorted by the media and gun control addicts.  The NRA was founded in 1871 to help the US government by training men in marksmanship training to be ready to defend the USA.  The NRA went more gun lobby back in the 1960's because of the rise in stupid gun control.  Look at old Mechanic Illustrated magazine in the 1950's.  You could buy old military surplus rifles through the mail!  But gun control took life due to the rise in civil disobedience and increased illegal drug use.  The sad thing about the NRA is so many gun owners refuse and even disagree with NRA, but cannot name who supports their Second Amendment rights.  Imagine if the estimated 80 million gun owners and the millions of more of their family and friends spoke with one voice, WE WANT A REAL WAR ON GUN VIOLENCE.
