2012_taco
Not hunting related but, the local news did a little story about the incident we dealt with last Thursday at hockey. Those that went to the Goat know about this as i didn't make it to the party because of this. I hope the link is attached. https://www.wgrz.com/local Short story, we bought the AED devise 5 years ago to have at the rink because we lost a friend after a hockey game to a heart attack. When another player dropped dead due to a heart attack we did cpr and used the AED, it shocked him back and the paramedics said we saved his life! Thank God we had that thing! The guy had a complete blockage in a main artery, at the hospital they put in a stint and he is back on his feet. Second chance at life! Hockey brothers are much like us hunting brothers, we would, and do anything for each other! Lave life mas! don't swear the small stuff.

UpStateRedNeck
Nice! I played a year in college, at the lowest possible level, but it was a good time. Still know a couple of thebguys, always trying to get me to join their rec leagues. Ice time is a pain in the ass to get around here. Always at odd hours.
grampy
What a great story! Everyone there scored a goal that day! I don't think anything tops giving a second chance at life to a friend. Great job! And anytime I play hockey, I spend more time down on the ice, than on my skates! I'm just a pond player, though I love the game. 1

Nomad
See this is a good example of why trained folks and AEDs are a good idea for most locations, gyms and athletic areas in particular . A older person with a heart history ,seldom is brought back particularly when it’s not witnessed , or CRP started right away . A relatively young ,heathly person ,where it’s witnessed and CRP is started right away along with early defibrillation ( if there’s a shockable rhythm) they have a chance . Calling 911 and standing around waiting seldom leads to a successful outcome no matter the age / health of pt. I’ve gone on Id guess a couple hundred CPR calls with only a handful of saves . Be you’re own first responder . Again nice job, not only that night but having the wisdom to be prepared for that night .
