Rain

We needed some rain badly but this evening's rain was rediculous . It was a total downpour and most of it ran off . I hope some of it soaked in the ground .

they had rotating clouds on radar out your way....sounded like it got wild...we're just getting lightening...no rain....figures planted last plot of secret spot today.....

About 9:15 or so tonight we were heading south off of Rt 104, north of Medina and we could see a heck of a storm to the south east.  Looked like somebody got blasted!

We got hit pretty good last night too. Originally they said it was gonna stay up Eddie's way, but it shifted and we got nailed. I have some video of it, Ill upload it later.

I hit us as well and kept us awake for a couple of hours....dang it hammered the plots and filled up the Pond area

Sometimes we don't get much but when we do we really do. :'( When I am upstate I love to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and watch the rain, my dog right next to me. Down here on Long Island even though we need the rain, it's not the same feeling.

Visited with some friends this morning in Hemlock.  They had 2" last night and a boat load more after lunch today.

How's that drought thing doing NOW!! ;D

Its been coming down hard here since after lunch time.  Was cutting wood in it all afternoon. Soaked from head to toe but it felt good not sweating up a storm lol.

Weve gotten plenty of rain now. Everything is back to green now. Now I hope it backs down just a little on the weekends at least lol.

According to the weatherman last night, the drought has been erased. My rain guage has recorded over 5" so far for August.

However, I have a shallow pond (about 5' deep) behind the barn that is only a puddle right now that you could walk across with knee-boots. So, I'm not sure just how effective a lot of this rain is in raising the water table. Let's put it this way: I'm not about to start washing the car and watering the lawn from my well.....lol.

The rain predicted yesterday never happened. But last night it hammered and we got several inches.

The woods and waterways were dry and this may just be the front that brings fall weather on it's heals.

We had tickets to the Rochester Red Wings / Columbus game yesterday . The Game was rained out but the food wasn't . It was worth the drive for the Chicken wings !  ;D

Drove back from Massachusetts yesterday on RT 22 it wAs raining so hard I could not see a foot in front of me. Got home and some of my young trees where up-rooted and my 10-11 ft sunflowers where in the driveway.

It rained all night and has been raining all day here in the catskill mtns. We needed the rain but kinda sucks when you blacktop for a living

Two Sundays in a row I scheduled to go trap shooting.  Two Sundays in a row it got cancelled due to rain.  >
