Checking cameras

How  often do you guys check your cameras?

check mine anywhere from every 2 weeks to once a month depending on time constraints.

Same, every two weeks to a month... Its better the longer you leave it, but I want to see whats on there!

lol thats my problem I was barely able to go 3 days without checking it. had one doe on it and a dozen pictures of me walking away.

Oh I feel your pain I left it for a week then when I checked it I had two four pointers and I have been itching to check it. I try to leave it alone for at LEAST four days. I will admit it is hard knowing that j could have pics of my first buck on there.

I am just over 3hrs from mine so....they sit till I get up there,about 2 weeks at a time sounds right. What sucks,is that I change out the SD card and have to wait till I get home on the PC to view it.

i keep my cameras in high traffic (human) areas where i can check them whenever i have time. I try to stay out of bedding and staging areas. feed fields and scrapes on the edge of them are my favorites seem make my intrusion the least noticeable. its great if you get a picture of a good buck in a secret spot but the best chance to get him is the 1st time you set up on him. checking a camera every two weeks or even a month may be the 1 time to much and he's tipped off and your chance is gone....

I check mine every two weeks but I also move them.... in two weeks I either abandone that area or set it up for tree stands or ground blinds... then move to another area...

Got some crop damage permits this year so I'll be hopefully removing a few lone does off the farm this weekend as well...  ;D

I like to let mine soak for at least 10 days. Then I swap the card out, add new batteries if needed and relocate them to a new area. I also try to be as scent free as possible when setting them up, and if you can put them out just before a hard rain...all the better.

This time of year, once a week or so. Closer to season or during season, every few days. I like to stay on top of things!

Being retired and at my property almost every day, it'd difficult to ignore them for more than 4 days.

If you aren't putting your Cam's in areas where deer are use to human activity and your are checking them more than every other week or so you are most likely ruining your chances at a mature deer, doe's and young bucks might be forgiving but the mature bucks will key in on your activities.  Trail camming is fun but needs to be treated just like hunting your favorite stand or you risk ruining your chances at your trophy of a lifetime especially once bucks change from summer to fall patterns they are alot less forgiving.  I have seen reaction to cam's by mature doe's and bucks from recon stands and they will walk quite a ways around a spot to avoid a cam it's pretty wild to see
