WTH with this 73 deg weather ...

I had a buck close by grunting but never saw him ... saw 6 nice turkeys ..

Went back out this afternoon till dark .. nothing

I Tom of deer in my area of Livingston County today..  moved early this morning, but were also moving when it was 70+..

Put up a few birds and missed some very easy shots as I’m wont to do. Bagged my share of vitamin D.

Deer moving in the woods or open ?

The woods early in the day and in the thicker areas later in the day when it was warmer..

Get in close to bedding areas when it is this warm

No luck, sat dark to dark as usual.  One young illegal buck at first light, and nothing until last light, which was a doe.

I passed on a 4 point at 11:30.  I saw another unidentified buck and a doe at around 8:00, that did not offer shots.  I saw a doe, just out of range at 4:50, and a decent "shooter" buck and big doe, well out of range, at 5:05 (10 minutes after legal).  I hunted for about 7 hours today and I plan on about 9 tomorrow.

6 deer seen, 4 in legal light, half bucks, so not a bad day.  I am liking the warm temps and looking forward to tomorrow. Hopefully, I will need to plug in the deer fridge. Usually, the first time I hunt a spot in a year is the best and I have a couple of fresh ones to break in tomorrow.  The truck is packed and I am ready to go.

I absolutely blew up the woods on my way in, countless sets of eyes and then nothing on my sit. My friend was waiting for me to come out and killed a button buck that stepped out on a gas line right

I’d feel much better about it if I were using a crossbow. I need to make time to shoot at clays

Morning sit are your best bet during this hot spell.  I saw one doe and three bucks this morning :)
