Cabin Fever
What do you take for a cold? Is one med just as useless as another? I've been taking Alka Seltzer Cold and Sudafed , but I see no improvement in the symptoms. I've tried many different products over the years, but none really seemed to work any better than the others, that would make me want to use them again. I think a stick of dynomite is the only thing that would clear my head up!
Paula
What works for one might not work for others. I use the dayquil tabs and at night i use mucinex. and nose spray when needed.

virgil
if you read the labels and look at the 'active ingredients', you can see that, for the most part, they're all the same. sometimes a cold triggers a histamine reaction that makes your symptoms worse- you might try an anti-histamine or some kind of OTC allergy medication. WNYBuckHunter
The only thing I ever take for a cold is Nyquil when I cant sleep because of it. Otherwise, I suffer through it and let it go away naturally. If it doesnt get better, I go to the DR.
Cabin Fever
I got a presentation to give in about 4hrs. The way I am sneezing, I would NOT want to be the people sitting in the first few rows!! They may be hit with "schrapnel"! I better go out on lunch and get some allergy meds, to hopefully clear up a little and control the sneezing.
wooffer
Take a single claratin- D 12 hour pill before bed and lots of liquids. Clears up the sinuses so you can (breathe) and sleep.
Deerthug
Advil Sinus Congestion tablet works wonders for me. I usually get the generic brand at CVS/Riteaid but found a box of brand name 40 count at BJs for $11 compared to 10 tablets for $9 at CVS. I also use a nasal rinse bottle with saline. It's like a netty pot except better. I use it in the shower with the packet and warm water. Squirt it up one nostril and out it goes down the other. Your sinuses have to be somewhat clear to use it and you gotta be careful not to squeeze too hard otherwise you can get the water in your ears. Culvercreek hunt club
Welcome to getting older, Geno...lol I have high blood pressure so I am very limited in what I can take. I can only take the Coricidan HPB stuff and it is just barely better than nothing at all.
Doc
I got a presentation to give in about 4hrs. The way I am sneezing, I would NOT want to be the people sitting in the first few rows!! They may be hit with "schrapnel"! I better go out on lunch and get some allergy meds, to hopefully clear up a little and control the sneezing. Now that's funny. I can just picture people screaming and whining in disgust and terror and diving under the seats as a spray of spit and snot showers over them. I would probably pay to see that ... but only from a distance.
