Okay, Don..I am no lawyer....I would inform the neighbor what happened , tell him that you cannot use a chainsaw for medical reasons, and ask him if he can help you out...  If he declines  ask him if there is someone local that you could hire  to cut it out...

Good, or at least FREINDLY neighbors are a valuable commodity...I say this having owned property in a rural area  with numerous neighbors for the last 70 years...

Yeah, well the tree in front of it in the photo is at least 24 in diameter. I strapped to it to pull an atv from a mud hole that’s right where the pic was taken from.

Put a tape across the one in front of it and take a pic! 18”

Seems the timber company is one you need to contact if you need to since it is to much for you to do. They may want to recover lumber from siad tree, and i doubt lease holders have permission to cut timber. Either way a phone call wouldnt hurt. Amd may avoid trouble with neighvors at all, if not find a local with a saw and cut a chunk out of middle and winch/push it out of the way.

Yep, for this season for sure, or under it. We only drive the ATVs in that far anyway. What you see way in the background is where we park. My question was simply was the neighbor responsible or not. Nothing more...

Too bad you’re a bit far from me, otherwise I’d help you out. Looks like a two beer job!

The timber company we lease from only has a "hands off"  on standing timber. If it's down it's fair game.
