Antler Restrictions - What are your thoughts?

I still say a 3 yr no buck rule would be better..yearlings will be 4 by the end of 3 years.. and 2=5 and so on

Now there is an AR.. the restriction is.. no antlers at all. I think that a choice between that and a spread restriction.. hunters would pick the spread restriction

Wouldn't be years for me!! and what difference would it make you either aren't allowed to shoot one or you can't find one to shoot..

I am a young guy I can wait years to reap the rewards later. I want to get my land to the point of where I can take by pick of bucks to shhot.

Then you got bucks who dont and will never have a good spread breedin and runnin free to contaminate future generations..but only the good ones can be taken

Not sure how you came up with that conclusion, but you're absolutely wrong... but lets say you are right...then we can just ad an amendment to the law that saws you can take a buck of with lesser spread if his rack scores 120 or better... even with a smaller spread you can tell a big buck from a yearling... it isn't that hard.. a big buck is simply that.. a BIG Buck

Pat Rockets Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest will take over, I think all those inferior buck will eventually die off and the big boys will take over. Yes Nyantler participation is required by every hunter otherwise it will not work. Trust me I know pleanty of hunters, some I am related to, that shoot the first deer they see. Not good for QDM, those are the guys I try and keep off my land.

That sounds good Pat but we both know that will never happen. No bucks for 3 years, who will buy hunting licenses. The state needs the money the get from hunting licenses, so anything that restricts them from obtaining it will never happen.

I don't need a no bucks season.. I would just shoot an older buck... they are more of a challenge to hunt.

Passing on yearlings accomplishes the same thing as no bucks and guy would still be able to gun hunt... although if they pass a no bucks for three years rule.. I could do it standing on my head..

Actually it was hypothesized it was flat, and faulty thinking was proved wrong. The concept of theory is that it can be independently proven.....

Folks use the word "theory" incorrect all the time when they should be saying I have a hypothesis......
