This court ruling doesn't say that the safe act is constitutional it. It says the the message of necessity was constitutional. Basically the court doesn't want to step on the toes of the governor so he can continue to use the message of necessity to force whatever he wants on us. It also states that the message of necessity wasn't really justified but it was up to the legislature to make that decision not the court. So basically the message of necessity is constitutional because the legislature let it happen, It shouldn't have been used but deal with it. Typical NYS2 points

Looks like a runway preview of what's around! Of course we all know what happens after Labor Day and when we're sitting in the stand! There's a 5sec recovery between vids, so movement you see at end of 1st vid is same buck standing at top of creek crossing at beginning of 2nd vid. http://s1142.photobucket.com/user/nyslowhand/library/#/user/nyslowhand/library/?sort=9&page=1&_suid=13728753032450147966157490816871 point

Been kinda slow for me lately but I did take a few shots along the way.. This is that other friendly deer I've been following around. A doe crossing the corn field.. I spent some time sitting by the humingbird feeder this morning and got a few shots I liked.... This is a lot tougher than I thought it was gonna be. A little junco in the grass.. A baby grossbeak that left the nest too soon.. And a few flowers I decided to take some pics of to keep in touch with my sensitive side..1 point

It doesn't matter. Let me repeat that ..... "It doesn't matter". I don't care what they say. I only care how they vote. The point that will be made and must be made is that a vote for gun control has consequences to the legislator's career. It is a fear factor that has to be put back into the career path of politicians. They must be re-educated to the fact that they work for their supporters and must vote in accordance with the fact that they are our representatives. It is a message that has made the NRA the powerful voice of gun owners for all these years. Politicians feared our gun lobby, and that fear has to be put back in their minds if we are to keep this anti-gun steamroller off our backs. My suggestion is not really anything radical. It is simply making the vote work again to restore representative government. This is not a call to arms or any of that other wacky stuff. It is simply using the system as it was intended. Very simple ..... you want to vote anti-gun, you have a huge block of voters to contend with. You can use them as support or opposition ..... your choice. There is no politician that will risk any votes, not to mention an organized, dedicated, unified significant percentage of the voters in their district. The draw-back to all this ...... gun owner apathy. We have many that don't vote at all let alone voting as a single issue force. Can it be done? I think it can with enough anger and passion whipped up by the pro-gun organizations and we as individuals. How important is this issue to us? Maybe after the next election, we may find out. But I will say that those who do not vote against these known anti-gunners really should have nothing to say about any problems they encounter with gun issues. By the way, I intend to publish that voting record of the NYS Safe Law as soon as I figure how to cut and paste an Excel spreadsheet on this forum. I tried and so far the formatting on this forum is very unfriendly to spread sheets .... lol. I'm working on it.1 point

If I recall correctly.., years ago we used to be able to bait but had to remove it 30 days prior to season. I don't remember much of an uproar about it back then. In fact, if you didn't have an apple trough, corn pile, or salt block out your back window, you were probably in the minority. Gotta admit, I kinda miss that for watching deer.1 point

I wouldn't care to bait deer even if it were legal It might still be "hunting", but it still carries a cheating mentality. Where's the challenge in that? Nothing is learned from doing it. I dislike those who jacklight deer even more! Haha, glad you got under that guy's skin Eddie! He would shoot them? Yeah he (might) get his safety clicked off before the ECO sends five 9mm rounds out the guys back tag!1 point

We rescued her and have not had even the slightest regret. Due to medical reasons we can not have children, so Precious is our little darlin'! Spoiled is an understatement. She always sleeps above my head on my second pillow and so what if I sleep with my feet hanging off the bed, as long as she's comfy! lol A great watch dog too, I swear her ears could rival a white tails. I've always wanted a Plott hound, but my mind was made up when I saw her. The day we met her she acted as if she'd known us all of her life. All she wanted was love and she knew she was home.1 point

My yard has been declared a "Deer Hostile Zone". I put up with a bit of shrub damage over the winter when food was scarce, but it appears that they have a taste for decorative plantings around the yard even when there is plentiful sources of food everywhere else. So now instead of simply enjoying seeing deer around the house, I am giving them the boot every time I see them......lol. Next deer season, areas in close to the house will no longer be a sanctuary for them. They have to go! ... fawns and all.1 point

Finally getting some time to get out with my new camera. I just got the Nikon D7100 a couple weeks ago and I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of it. Here's a few deer shots from this past week.1 point

So what is the last date those scientist claim the wolf disappeared from NY? And what is the date from the begining of that 50 year void? Really curious as I recall my grandfather burying a few dead cows he found in the pasture that were mangled from a predator or two. I also recall digging a big deep hole more than once with the loader and the next morning the holes were dug up and the carcass was shredded. I remember seing the 4 legged creatures on more than one occasion as well, but this was 30 to 35 years ago. Just curious if these dates have anything in common or if its another one of those denial reports from the good ole state of NY. Makes me wonder if this was more percentage days of wolf than coyote mix back then. Keep in mind I was a kid and gramps claimed wolf. I also recal on my other grandparents farms neighbors talking about seeing wolfs and us kids were not allowed in the back 40 alone to play.1 point

Yea, so I missed with the first shot. The next two killed this pair out of a flock of 50-60 this morning in the pea soup fog. Saw some ducks but they were out of range. The dog did good, she's only handled a handful of geese over the years and these were no problem. Good times.....1 point
