  1. Got a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter 44 Mag that I have used in the past. Not really a backup sidearm type thing. I use my duty Glock I guess you can say when I can't remember to lock it my truck LOL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. After freezing my stones off during rifle season my plan for ML season will be a bit different. I'm gonna try a blind on a productive field that has plenty of travel routes on and out of it. Looking for info on a small propane heater. Something that's quiet and low odor. Anyone have anything to offer here by way of a brand/model. I'd be willing to spend about $100. The Mr Heat Buddy's look good but I have no first hand knowledge at all on this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My son took an 8 on the move with this rifle. A little under 100 yds. First round missed, the second shot did the trick. Into the boiler room. He worked the action so fast that his buddy said it seemed like a semi auto. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The verdict is WOW. Rifle is a dream. Hunts well and shoots better. My rifle season was completed with a 177 yd shoot through a meat doe's neck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. small world we're in the French Woods.
  6. never had a problem with a Shockwave and an exit wound and I only shoot two pellets.
  7. All Hopes for me. I soak a bore mop in #9 and run it through the barrel a few times. Then I switch to a brush and run it through the barrel a good 10 times. Then I run the mop through again. I let it stay wet over night with #9. The next day I brush it again 10 times or so. Then I go onto dry patches on a jag. Usually inside of 6 patches the barrel is clean. The last patch that comes out white get a good coat of Hopes Elite Oil then that goes through the barrel. I also use a chamber brush. The bolt face gets the old tooth brush with #9. And all surfaces are wiped with a lightly oiled cloth. A guy from Sierra Bullets gave me that technique a few years ago. It works great for me. He also got me using a bore guide for cleaning. At the range and in hunting camp I use a bore snake. When I'm shooting at the bench I snake it every 8 or 10 rounds. This cuts down on the fouling a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Shot this yesterday for zero. The rifle shoots really well in the new stock and the bedding is a big improvement. It's definately stiffer recoils in the lugged, bedded stock. Surprisingly it never liked my pet 150 gr load before. It's shooting under an inch with these now. I think I'm liking this gun again. Lol.
  9. What are your methods for cleaning. Everyone has their own routine. Let's hear what your products and methods are for rifles/shotguns after a day of shooting or on a hunting trip. This one ought to be a fun one.
  10. Update on the 7600. It made it to the range yesterday. The conditions were poor. Windy and the bench was lousy. The gun still did an inch consistently. I think that will be good enough for the Catskills. It prefers 180 gr to 150 and 165 bullets.
  11. Let us know what you think of them. I'd hope they're better then the Aertip. Right now I'm mostly in agreement with Cabin Fever. I do hear good things about the Harvester Bullets but I already resighted for TC bullets. I'm 2 for 3 with Powerbelts and that's just not good enough on recovering shot deer. The Platnums are supposed to be a tougher jacket which is the weakness of the Aerotip.
  12. No the one in the box was wood. The guy had two. My son elected to take this one because he was able to eek another $100 cash in the job by foregoing the engraving. He didn't care about engraving in the end. Didn't know that was happening until it landed in the house. Not sure if it was a bait and switch but he did well in the end both ways. We Lock Tited the base down like y'all recommended. His girlfriends dad has land in PA that backs upto to state game land so I think he's gonna do well with the pump gun. He's taking it to the range on Fri to zero it in. Nothing like last minute. But he's working hard so I can't complain too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Done. It's a nice rifle. From what I'm reading it's more accurate than my 7400 semi. Plus he can use it in PA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. How many of those hood rats in the city that voted the blue are even eligible to vote? We need election reform in this state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. He went with the Vortex Crossfire II. He liked mine on my 7400. I was hoping he'd go with the Burris Droptine, but Dicks has a great price on the Vortex prices and the glass is super quality. I think it was $150 and they had a 20% off thing he found on line. The final price was like $120. He did well with it. Not bad for moving a sub panel and installing a 220 line.
