Funny how they love the other place and want others to jump ship from here but the Sally’s won’t give the sites name. lol. Maybe John will show back up one of these days and he will play their game and read between the lines and dump the stupidity.
-
Did you actually see where it was denned up under the tree? With this warm winter I would guess a few will be out and about much earlier then normal
-
Exactly. My recognition gets decided in the woods. I will only hunt the best of the best in my hunting areas and my recognition comes from if I succeed at that challenge or not. Of course when one takes the top of the species they are going to get the congrats from friends and family but when one completes that feat on a regular basis they will receive the negative recognition from some hunters but we all know where that comes from. Comes with the territory.

Just watched the Watertown forecast and it’s 30-40’s next 10 days with no snow and sunshine. Sucks for ice fishing but no complaints here. Great being able to get some work done on the big expansion of the deer pens in the winter months.

If anyone on this site missed the first crap show that went down when this place imploded they didn’t spend a lot of time on this site anyways. Plus it’s obvious that the only active mod on this site is Ok with people on here calling other members names and the personal attacks. Getting old. We are down to what 10 daily active posters on this site? Clock is ticking for sure.

Talk about Flashbacks. Amazing.

And the demise of hunting is not coming because people want the biggest and the best of the species they can get. Exactly the reason Ny hunters now take more 2 year olds then they do yearlings. Many older hunters want the challenges and the rewards of taking older bucks. And spend millions of $$$ to achieve those rewards. Hunting is changing in many different ways.
-
No doubt they notice the camera at times but I would guess the scare comes like you say the scent that the hunters leave messing with the cameras. I use the new ones with pics directly to the phone for the most part so leave little scent and have not noticed any changes in deer behavior for the most part.

I find it amusing the so called argument about meat against big antlers. Now you look at these two bucks for example. Who got more meat doing the same thing. My buddies son’s 110 pounder or my 189 pounder? You think Ny state now kills more 2-3 year olds instead of yearlings of the past because they just get more meat? Not at all. They want larger antlers and they get more meat right along with the package. Times have changed like it or not. It’s not good that we are losing hunters and not gaining but as the numbers show hunters want bigger mature deer with larger headgear and the spend millions of dollars on every aspect of hunting to reach that goal. Lock down land, food plots, better equipment and the list goes on.

Once again you’re all wet. I made the statement that nobody will know the feeling of picking out a mature whitetail buck of 120-30 inches and hunting only that buck until harvest, passing every other buck of lesser size. Fact. What others read between the lines and throws their stupid little comments like it’s bragging or better then someone else well that’s just the same people’s weakness showing ones again. Again if one thinks that does not take another level to achieve then again shows what they don’t know.regardless of who does it just like the guy the original post was started about. It’s not for everyone but it’s my choice like 1000’s of other hunters I could give two shits how they enjoy shooting little bucks for whatever their reason but just because after 50 years of shooting inferior bucks and need a challenge when I hit the woods now that changes nothing except my way of hunting. And usually when some see the results they…same ones over and over…they call it bragging or being above others. Again, just showing their weakness.

True words. Some years there is only 1 target buck that fits the bill and it’s that or nothing. Last year it was 2 bucks and I missed out. The easy part is to see and pass 15-20 other bucks a year. The hard part is to find the 120-30 mature bucks and hunt just them until harvest or bust. That’s the real challenge. Total different animals. The word to Hunt might be one word and meaning but there sure is different challenges that totally change the game. After 50 plus years I have felt all there is to feel in hunting and one will never feel that feeling until they complete the biggest challenge possible. Fact.

Any Sliverado 1/2 ton owners 2012 thru 2019 ?
Four Seasons replied to luberhill's topic in General Chit Chat
I have a 2019 lifted with 37’s and just at 30 grand with no issues yet knock on wood but my nephew has a 17 and he has an issue when he puts his in 4 wheel auto but I’m not sure that’s not an actuator problem more then a tranny issue. Change out your filters and tranny fluid and see what things look like there. There has been issues with the 1500’s in the tranny dept. -
I will answer your question once and only once. It’s always the same old few that put words into my posts that are not even said and we all know there is a reason for that. If you would have read the posts…. And I showed you the pictures so you can see the caliber of bucks involved. All like the one I harvested were in the high 120’s to 30 maybe so really none of the 3 this year were lesser. Although an easy 15-20 lesser bucks were passed. I locate and hunt the biggest bucks my area has to offer for that season and any lesser buck will not do. Period. It’s a target buck or larger of course if one happens to drift thru as all hunters know the rut will move them in and move them out. You see the date on the camera picture when I first found the buck I harvested and I never killed that deer until the end of bow season. I have over 40 trail cameras and 17 tree stands thru out my hunting area on the park and the farm. I had pictures of those bucks in probably a 3 mile area from the Hogsback to the bottom of Highbanks And Silver Creek back to the farm. They sure did not hang together so it definitely was a one on one thing depending on which camera showed me which buck showed up where and when and then I hunt accordingly. A tad more to it then sitting in a heated box blind waiting for any buck to show up.

Well let’s put it this way. The day you try to do it and either succeed or get you ass handed to ya you come back and let us know. All forms of hunting are the same and everyone gets the same enjoyment as the others involved until it comes to the harvest. And if you think it takes the same skill, mindset or any other word you want to throw In there to hunt single mature bucks compared to sitting on a field shooting the first spike that walks out then there is a whole lot about hunting you have no clue about. Some like to take the word Hunt to the top level and not just go out and Harvest an animal. There is a huge difference.
-
Again. You had your chance before. Show where there is any bragging involved? It’s fact , it happens every time I harvest an animal because I refuse to shoot inferior animals. Fact. Just like the guy this post was started about. He and I are no different except he is not on this forum. You have an opinion on something you have admitted to never doing. That’s epic. There is no bragging and there has been no knocking of the way others hunt. And if you think there is not more involved in taking only mature animals compared to just filling a buck tag because you have one then that’s on you. It’s all a choice and no need to impress. That’s on others. I know I’m impressed by the guy that yearly tracks and harvests mature bucks In the Adirondacks like clockwork . And we choose to go after the best of the best after already taking all the others the last 50 years. And if you don’t think more hunters are not looking to Improve their hunting and their size of animals harvested you need to get out more. More hunters, even new hunters are more eager to harvest top of the class animals compared to the bottom. Look around you. Do you see many harvest pics online of spikes and fours? Didn’t think so and that was their choice.
-
Inferior nothing. That was never said. And the fact is the ultimate hunt is taking down one of the world top game animals one on one on it’s own turf and accepting nothing less. Just what I implied and just what is 100% Fact. myself and many others will only accept that challenge.
-
Calling people out. Let me ask you almighty. Have you ever located and hunted a top buck in your area and hunted that animal only until harvest or bust?? If not you have no clue on that feeling. Just as my statements say. That’s not calling any hunters out or throwing any kind of stones on their way of hunting. That’s states fact that they have no idea what it feels like to really hunt AN animal and not sit and wait for ANY animal. That’s 100% fact.
-
Oh I see. So you can downgrade a guy that hunts for the top class animals that takes the best of skills but it’s wrong to bring in the other side that choose to shoot some of the lowest class animals in the woods that takes very little skills. I love your rose colored glasses. The fact is that there are both sides in hunting which is fine. But guys like you only call out the ones that choose to sit in the top class. I see.
-
By all means. You go back and quote one sentence where I was demeaning in any way on the way others choose to hunt. I will wait. That all comes from your weak mind. I said other hunters will never know the feeling of taking on the best of the best their area has to offer one on one until it’s harvest or bust. And that’s 100% fact and says nothing about other hunters. What you read in to those statements is your problem. There are 1000’s of hunters that hunt the same exact way. It’s always you few that never put up any harvests that have an issue when I put up an awesome harvest. Your colors never change. Now let’s get at that quote your going to show where I was demeaning of the way any other hunters choose to hunt.
-
I chased this buck around last year, let probably 20 other bucks walk and never killed a buck last year and ate the tag. That makes my way of hunting better or different from others? I think not. Different strokes for different folks. I like the challenges of taking on the best my area has to offer. Makes the game much more personal with its up’s and downs. Can’t beat the feeling when it all comes together.
-
Cool. So you have no problem with those bucks but you have problems with others that take bigger and hunt in a different way than yourself. Got It.
-
Spot On. Have many friends in other states that actually are in favor of hunting and protect their 2nd. Look what’s happening in some states now with the stocking and protection of Wolves. Just another way to get their agenda pushed.
-
Give us another reason? I congratulate every buck that gets posted on this site. Yet you have problems with some of the best on it. Now why don’t you take the time to post up a pic of yourself with your buck from this year??
-
Nothing new from these two. You notice they post nothing and I mean nothing of any merit on this site until they want to downgrade others. It’s been comical for years. I just wish I could see any harvests they have ever made.

That jelly is really shining thru once again. Usually does when one can’t accomplish what someone else does. Pretty bucks huh?
