LIVE From The Woods 2020 - Let's hear stories and see some pictures!

I've worn my rubber boots but I find they work better with a light pair of hunting boots. The problem is hunting in 9F there is a lot of wet areas and you need rubber boots. Yes, I place a hand warmer on top of my boot above my toes while inside of the outer boot. These are the boots I bought https://www.amazon.com/ArcticShield-523000-804-060-18-Insulators-2X-Large-Realtree/dp/B07FP5G8H7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_eb-BRB2EiwAGBnXXuHvwIxnavQi7_NM -

I picked up a pair of overboots similar to those last spring. I wore them a lot this deer season and love them. My feet always get cold when sitting and I've tried everything. I put a hand warmer on top of my boot in the overboot and I can sit for hours! They are a little tricky to put on in the stand so I put them on right before I climb up. I'll never go without them again on long sits. And as Turkeyfeathers said they are not easy to put on so buy them extra large. I think mine are sz15 and i wear a sz12 boot. Next if Santa is good to me I should be wearing a heated vest! Poor circulation really sucks in the cold weather! -

JAY, I think I passed you on the 400 on my way home from Angelica today? 2:30 ish? -
Those of you that have and wear a heated vest, what brand do you have? I'm trying to talk Santa into getting me 1 and need to steer her in the right direction! Thanks

It's a real tree here. We've been going to the same tree farm in Warsaw since my youngest was probably 6, he's 38 now! My wife puts white lights inside near the trunk and colored lights on the branches, says she likes the way it makes the tree glisten. I really like the way my wife decorates the fireplace mantle. It looks even better with the fire going but not until she's done as it's too hot!

Happy Birthday Sir! have a great day!

Have you been tested? It amazes me how long it takes to get the results from a test. You could infect a lot of people by the time you get your results! That's why you should be in quarantine.

Congrats Don!! That's a beautiful buck! Ever need help thinning out some of those 17 deer let me know. LOL -
Have a great winter in Fla! You and the doggies deserve the break. Thanks for your efforts and some great reading. I look forward to next years reports!

Jay, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better! Just take it real easy as this thing lingers and you end up paying for it, if you overdo it at all. I hunted yesterday all day (in a heated blind of course) but with the walk back and forth in 1 ft of snow, last night my hips and knees were hurting bad. Plus all afternoon I had another splitting headache. Taking another day off today. Good Luck! and take care.

Glad to see the DEC trying to get control over what they are supposed to manage, but this is only a draft and will probably never make it to actual law. That said, I'm definitely in favor of opening up the possibility of bow hunting in Amherst(9C). And the proposal of tax breaks for owners of private property that open up their property to hunting. Plus extending shooting hours to 1/2 hour before sunrise and sunset, although I fear that will only encourage those hunters that already shoot too early to shoot even earlier? time to pop some popcorn!....

Any Black Friday deals this year?
2012_taco replied to goosifer's topic in Deals, Coupons and Specials
Goose, don't waste your money on that grinder as it's probably not even 1/3 hp and that slicer will have a serated blade and will just shred up everything you try to slice. JMHO -
Biz and Jay, I hope you both get through this quickly! As I read these post I keep saying to myself yep same here! It's a real roller coaster ride! 1 good day leads to 2 -3 bad ones. Lower back pain(kidney area) achy hips and knees, headaches, sinus pressure, sleep 12 hours a day, and weight lose (i dropped 25 lbs) etc, etc, etc. It's been just over 3 weeks for me and I'm definitely doing better, I've been able to get back out hunting but the energy level is just not there. I hunt 1 day and want to sleep the entire next day. I can tell I'm getting better but it's been 22 days already! I hunted all day Friday and Saturday, today I'm taking a break. Full moon last night and 50 degrees today made it easy to say "good day"to take a break. I'll rest up cause it looks like snow in the forecast for wed-thurs and I want to be ready to hit it a little harder! God Speed my friend, I hope you both get through this real soon!

Just catching up, congrats Brian and Jason! I hunted all day today in 1 of the elevated box blinds. Very comfy! Gave a couple of small bucks a pass. -
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hopefully those that got out have some great action. Looking forward to seeing the pics! -
Give it time, my wife was over a week into it b4 she lost smell. My son and daughter in law in So Cal had it and she lost smell and taste right away, he didn't loose it for 10 days! Do you know how/where you came in contact with covid?
-
Have you lost your sense of taste or smell? Those tacos should be a good test! My wife lost her sense of smell and some taste, she said she can still taste sweet and salt. On the lighter side, she couldn't smell my taco farts!

Jay, I've been taking tylenol and sudafed for the sinus pressure/headaces. It helps. On a side note I wore your Cabelas coat and bibs on Sat, was warm all day! I honestly don't think i could have stayed that long in a stand without them! I also used a pair of those insulated over boots with hand warmers on my feet. never been so comfy! Thanks again! I love them for the cold days! get well soon my friend!
