Grow, I do the same thing, but I just use zip locks and squeeze out the air. I get extra use out of them. I used the same pr last 3 ski outings.

I am looking on line for hand warmers as my box of 40 prs. from 2 years ago is almost empty. I bought a box from BJ's on sale for around $20. they came with bonus foot warmers. I see several brands out there now and was wondering if any one has any experience with them. Grabber is the most popular brand but I see Heat works, Hot hands, Blue dot, etc. I can get heat works for $23/box of 40prs. just don't know if they work as well as the Grabbers did? Any thoughts?

Wilson's venison dogs with cheese and Jalapenos are awesome. I had some dogs made last year at Bond's in Springville , they were good but Wilson's are the best. When you go to Wilson's pick up some of their Cracker Bologna, goes great on crackers.

I guess I'm older than dirt.. I remember all but I don't think I had any 78's, not sure about the news reels but we only went to the drive in for movies in the station wagon, mom and dad and all my brothers and sisters! there was 10 of us! pea shooters were just blow guns? Did any one have your gutters collect in the cistern for water? we didn't have a well so when it was a dry summer we had to have water delivered and fill the cistern. But we had indoor plumbing!

Look into Consumer Cellular, my wife and i have our phones through them and we pay $39/mo. for both phones with 500 min/mo phone, phone to phone is no charge, I pay $ 5/mo extra for 500 texts/mo, and if i get an i phone or similar then data is the same as texts. Things get a little complicated with data plans only because I don't have an i phone and am not sure how it all works. You can buy one of their phones or use your own phone you just need them to send you a sim card. I would be very interested to see if anyone here has CC and what they think, but as for me I have been very satisfied with them and the coverage is great. I stand corrected, I just checked my last bill and with taxes we pay $46/mo. and get 600 minutes/mo. phone (phone to phone is free), and we get 1000 texts/mo. and or 100 mb of data/mo. I don't use the data so I don't know if it's a good deal or not. We are looking into getting new phones as they are so old they need to be replaced.

I am looking to take my nephew out turkey hunting this spring. He lives in Waterville, OH (south of Toledo) Their season opens on April 20, so I was hoping to go to OH for the last weekend in April. The problem is my brother does not hunt and I can't get the time to go out prior to scout. Any one know of some state land where I can go that is not too far from Waterville area that might actually hold some birds? Or have a contact that knows the area that I can talk to.? I can probably get my brother to take his son out before the season just to listen and see if they at least hear birds, that should help narrow down the areas to check out. Any help would be great. Thanks

I went out yesterday with bow and shoes, Hawkeye had their annual members only snowshoe shoot followed by game dinner. The shoot was fun, lots of the deep stuff, and the food awesome. Today it's going to be load the stove, go out for some more wood, and then I'm going to the Sabres game tonight. I hope I can park close so we don't have to walk far in these temps! I will probably spend most of the day today reading a turkey magazine in front of the wood stove. and dream of the spring woods, birds chirping, flowers growing and that intoxicating sound of an adult gobbler. The first day of spring is only 34 days away!!

There is a "Honey Do List" on the fridge, it has been there for years. Some of the things are done and some will never be done. I offered to put up a Honey Do list for her to work on.. and that's when it started!!

Card board blinds..

Cheap luann doors use interior glues. I don't think they will hold up outside for long. Grow you should get a job on the show Tiny House Nation! -
What else is there?

Swiston's is that on Young near Smoke on the Water?

Card board blinds..

Thanks Grow for the idea. I have 2 pop up blinds 1 small one for turkey hunting, and a large one I wanted for deer hunting. The problem is I don't trust leaving the large one up all season as i know it will get stolen. The cardboard box blind looks like it will work for what I need and although I will be disappointed if it gets stolen or destroyed it will not break the bank. Can you post some pics of the door? I'm sure I can come up with something but pics will give me a better idea of how to build it. I can't wait to get started. I already started collecting some cardboard. -
I have to own up, my wife is responsible for the pics. Laws where is the beef on weck sandwich from, it looks delish!

I have a Konus 3-9x32 scope that came as a package on a CVA Optima muzzleloader. Model # 7234 with 30/30 reticle. I put on a Nikon with the BDC reticle. It has been used for a season only minor scratches. Includes the pop up scope caps, I could include mounting rings if necessary. I will be putting it on Craigslist and Ebay. Looking to get $70. TRD. PM me if interested.

Venison Summer Sausage.
2012_taco replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
Thanks, I thought it would be the same or at least close enough. As for testing a new recipe, I usually take a tablespoon of the mix and make a small meatball put it in a coffee cup and microwave for 15 secs. It is not the same texture but you can get a sample of the taste. I often find that the mix is too salty, so I usually cut back on the salt in all my batches. -

I have a propane smoker and i had to add a regulator in line to cut the propane down as I couldn't keep the temp below 250*. My neighbor has a weber charcoal smoker and has used it for years. I believe it just takes time to learn how to get it working properly. Try the weber web site as i believe they have a forum of users and a lot of tips on using their smokers. I would keep trying before I would get rid of a good smoker. I'm sure there are some guys onthis forum that could give you some tips on using that smoker. Good luck!

Now that you have a smoker try this ... I take some backstraps and cut a pocket in the center with a long fillet knife, then marinate for 1/2 hour in equal portions of veg.oil, water, vinegar, and Montreal Steak seasoning. then I take my jerky shooter with a sausage stuffing tip and stuff the pocket with hot Italian sausage, then smoke at 200* for about 4 hours. let cool and slice it up, It is awesome!
