  1. Purchased my license on line a week ago last Sunday, still nothing, i'm beginning to get a little worried. Any one purchase their reg. licence using the new decals system and how long did it take to get it?
  2. So the sale on the jacket was actually 59.00?
  3. I'm in, like every other contest I just am happy to have an entry!
  4. I bought my license yesterday on line, Hope it worked as I didn't get an email conformation either, and the new system was slow and confusing. I will wait the week or so and see what shows up.
  5. Any one replace the side cables on rivers edge or similar hang on tree stands? I noticed that the cables look rusted and the vinyl coating is pulled back on a couple of my stands and I would like to replace them before I put them back in use. I searched the web but can't seem to find replacement parts. There are several forums that suggest buying cable and ends from a hardware store but I don't trust making my own crimp connections. I would rather have something industrial built where it actually gets tested. Any thoughts?
  6. Is that bear getting ready to climb up that ladder stand? Nice pics!
  7. Happy Birthday OLD man!!! Hope you enjoy the day, do something YOU really want to do. Oh wait that would be the same as any other day. Any way have a cold one for me. Tim
  8. Have the crowds died down? I just want to see the store and take my time w/o the feel of last minute xmas shopping.
  9. Had venison dogs made with cheese and Jalapenos on Thursday after hockey. Grilled in the parking lot, tailgating with some buds. Oh yes there were plenty of cold ones We do this 2-3 times during the summer. There are about 5-6 guys I play hockey with that are hunters so the stories never end! Great bunch of guys all 50+ years old and still kicking butt on the ice! Had the dogs made at Bond's in Springville, they are great!
  10. I would look into freezing for at least 30 days, I remember reading somewhere that freezing meat for 30 days will kill some of the bad guys that could be it the raw meat. Just a thought. I often add some liquid smoke to the crock pot for the flavor but there is nothing like a good bark on a venison roast.
  11. I always leave my camera on video, but how do you post a video? With the size of the file does it take forever? If you don't mind could you post the steps to post a video? Thanks
  12. Ok, I rented the walk behind from Grand rental Station and mowed for 7 hours on Wednesday, and 2 more hrs on Thursday morning. Got almost all the mowing done. I thought i would just take my time but once you start there's no turning back. I ache everywhere. Blisters on both hands and my legs cramped up so much on Wed afternoon, that I didn't think I was going to be able to make it back to my truck. Now I just have to re walk the lanes with a lopper and clean up the low hanging branches. I don't think i could pull back my bow right now but I will heal before the season opens.
  13. I already have the standard summit viper, would love to upgrade to the xl.
  14. Not familiar with Roch area but you could try to find an archery club in the area, there will be lots of guys who could help and they will have connections with good dealers in the area.
  15. I started to hunt pheasants with a neighbor when i was 15, I had to lie about my age to get a license as my parents didn't hunt and wouldn't sign my application for a license. I did some deer hunting with my older brother when i got home from college, now I hunt turkey in the spring, bow and gun for deer in the fall. Been going at it now 46 years, I never stop learning about hunting wild animals, every trip into the woods is a new experience. Take your time and enjoy it all.
  16. problem solved, Thanks lawd, We took the lock nut off of the sight and left the Elite hardware alone. Works fine. The adjuster on the sight is stiff enough that I don't need to tighten the lock nut. I will just have to keep an eye on the yardage markings before I shoot to be sure it hasn't moved. I usually look at the yardage as I set up just to sure it is dialed in right so I don't think that will be problem.
  17. Is the Summit viper the wider model? I believe it would be the XL.
  18. I got the new post for the quiver mount and it is the same size I already had. I called Elite and that is the longest they have, guess I'm back to square 1.
  19. I have the boot dryer from Harbor freight and it works fine. My wife gave it to me for Xmas so I don't know what it costs but I'm sure it is less than $40.00
  20. I've rented from them and the Home depot on transit rd. They both work the same. this is the machine http://www.billygoat.com/product-categories/detail/bc24-series-outback-brushcutter I was hoping to get it done w/o all the physical abuse. It turns out I may have access to a tractor, now I just need to find a brush hog attachment.
  21. Is it a walk behind or pull it with 4 wheeler?
  22. Does any one know if it possible or where I can rent either a pull behind power brush mower (to pull behind a 4 wheeler) or a small tractor w/ brush hog? I need to mow/ maintain trails on about 70 acres of land in Erie County. In the past I rented a walk behind brush mower from Home Depot but it only has about a 30" cut and it beats the snot out of you.! I never got around to mowing last year and now when I went out to check my cameras I got soaked from walking in waist deep grass!
  23. I have a macoun apple at my house and every year it produces a lot of small apples and as the season goes on they drop like flies. Every morning i can pick up 10 apples! They are small and deformed, I thought it was bugs, in the past I would spay the tree but each year it does it again. I have cut the tree back only to have it grow huge and still it produces the same. This year late winter I cut out a lot of branches to thin the tree but it doesn't look any different now and it still is dropping the fruit. It was supposed to be a semi-dwarf but it is 12 ft. tall! I don't know what else to try.
