I used to shoot the federal flightwads in my 12 ga 870, but i switched to the hevi shots. They pattern very similar (in my gun) but the hevi shots have the most knock down power I have ever seen. I have literally snapped the necks of birds at 40 yrds. -
It looks like I will be going to Ohio to take my nephew out turkey hunting last week of April. I call this dress rehearsal. lol I will make a list before going and add to it as I figure out what I forgot. Water bottle, themol cell, etc. Can't wait it has been a long cold winter and I am looking forward to hearing the mornings wake up from the turkey woods.

I have used a dehydrator for years. I only use ground venison and a shooter. 3lbs. meat 2 tsp salt 1 tsp cayenne pepper crushed red pepper to taste 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp mustard powder sprinkle in some mustard seed 3 tbsp brown sugar 2 tsp cure(Morton's tender quick) 3 tsp liquid smoke mix it all in a large bowl let sit in fridge for 4 hours(+-) shoot on to trays dry for 4-5 hours until a piece cracks when bending. my dehydrator is set at 155* refrigerate leftovers lol if there is any.

I have too many to mention but I almost always carry my butternut boat paddle by Quaker Boy, M L Lynch box call, Blodgent crystal over walnut pot call, a slate pot call, and several mouth calls. By half way through the season i start to carry less calls as i try to lighten up the load to run and gun. Man I can not wait to get out....

I shoot a 2013 Hunter and it is awesome how quiet it is. I had a GT 500 before this, it was a good bow much faster than the hunter. But as i get older I like the easy pull on the hunter. Gold tip arrows and 100 gr hellrazors.

American Chestnuts and Hazelnuts

I saw an article in the Sunday news a couple of weeks ago about the Dunstan Chestnut; does any one know anything about it and is it worth trying to get some and plant them? G-man do you know the difference between these and American? -

Hawkeye Bowmen in Marilla cancelled their Alaskan Shoot on March 28 due to the amount of snow in the woods. (they didn't think they could get the course ready and safe in time) They will extend their Wild Animal shoot in April to 2 days. April 11-12. Always a good shoot. You in Lawd?

The Bills signed Harvin? I don't ever remember this much preseason action ever in Bills history. Rex will change the whole team by opening day and then it will take half the season to learn to play together ending up with another 9-7 season! But we will still go to the games and buy all the merchandise. -
Sorry to hear that, but they will get through it.(with your help). I was laid off when my second was born, I ended up starting my own business remodeling and thank God it all worked out. Good luck and enjoy the little one.

I tried to make some but the recipe i followed turned out more like sausage. They taste and look better when made professionally. Can't figure out how you can take a red meat and make it look like a white hot?

push pin calls work and sound great. Don't get a plastic body push pin call imho they don't sound as good as a wooden box. You need to work them for a bit to break them in and learn how to effectively use them. I like to put a finger on top of the slide to put a little pressure on it and then tap the pin it makes a good cluck. Good luck and practice outside!

I always sand side to side, in the same direction. Once you get it cleaned, find the sweet spot, (the area that sounds best to you) and the I take my dremmil tool and cut a small grove in the side of the call where my index finger can find in the dark that way the call is positioned the same each time.
