thanks for the replies, I am not looking to sell/ship on ebay etc. but just was wondering if there would be a market and what someone would pay for 1 vs. how long they take to make. I will be donating 1 to Hawkeye Archery Club for their Traditional Shoot in August and 1 will probably go the the NWTF banquet in February.

I just made a couple of these for relatives and was wondering if there was a market for them. Just out of curiosity what would someone pay for a hand made Betsy Ross flag like this? They are made from reclaimed dog eared stockade fence. Measure approx 42" x 26"

My wife and I took the motorcycles to Erie to see the new F&S store. It's like a scaled down Bass Pro, a decent supply of camo clothes, archery, camping, smokers, seasonings, guns, and ammo. Some nice looking mounts on display. No great deals and everything they had is available for the same prices on line. I think they are associated with Dick's Sporting Goods? Any way it was a nice day for a ride and i am always interested in shopping for hunting stuff. Although I bet my wife knew it was safe going there on the bikes as she knew I couldn't find a way to put a new tree stand on the bike!

I don't understand the officiating? it seems the calls made all season long go away the further you go into the playoffs. I assume the refs don't want to be responsible for the outcome of the game but at the same time by not making the calls they do.

Any one using these broad heads? I was looking at them at a local archery shop, the owner says they work great, but he is a salesman! They are mechanical but will cut 1" even if they fail to open. Supposedly fly like field points. Of course they all say that.LOL

OK, I went in to the shop today and tried several verifier lenses. The # 10 and # 6 both cleared up my pins but the distance was blurry. The # 5 lens worked pretty good, better view of my pins and the distance was not bad. The shop only had those 3 sizes. I went with the # 5 and had it installed. I can't help but wonder if a #4 might be even better. ?

2 OT losses in LA .. This could be a real short series. I give it 5 games. I'm a Sabres fan but I lean towards LA as my son is living in S. CAL and #23 Brown is an Ithaca boy!

This may have been posted before but i am looking to make myself a stacked foam target and i am having a hard time finding a cheap source to get 1/4" foam pieces. I would like to use the sheet type of foam probably used for packing/shipping. i plan to sandwich it between boards similar to the targets made with cardboard posted on this forum. My thinking is that the foam will hold up better to broadheads than the cardboard, maybe not, and the foam should be lighter and hold up outside better side. Any suggestions where I might find foam? Does any one know how the cardboard targets hold up to broadheads?

Every year I learn something new about turkeys or hunting them, problem is by next year i forget it until it is too late. I admit I do have more patience as I get older, but the lose of my hearing is more frustrating than anything else. If you can not hear them they are much harder to hunt. The birds sound farther away to me now and I think i bump them trying to get a little closer. We are all creatures of habit and we tend to use the same calls and they same rhythm and patterns, its hard to break that pattern and try something different. I think we call too much and too loud, but when you aren't hearing gobbling you think I need to find 1 and out come the calls and up goes the volume.

Cool pics, I thought I noticed the trail cam looked like it was falling off when I walked past it last Saturday! I will have to try to get down there some time during archery season. Forgot how much i liked hunting with you at your place. Thanks for the invite. Tim

I miss the turkey hunting but I have to admit it was nice to sleep in and have breakfast with "da wife". Definitely was a different season.. between the lack of gobbling, the weather, and the absence of black flies it was trying. But I would do it over again in a minute. Congrats to all who scored. Remember the turkeys are always teaching us something, but you have to be there to see it, the hardest thing in turkey hunting is putting 2 feet on the bedroom floor!

talked to a local shop owner and he suggested the same, stop in and he will let me try some different lenses and see if it works for me before I spend the $$

Does any one have any experience with the verifier lens? I need 1.75 power reading glasses and have been dealing with blurry pins for several years. I was reading up on these and like everything else they seem too good to be true. I can see that they would bring your pins into focus but i would have to believe that they would make the target out of focus. I'm not sure which is worse. I appreciate any views. Thanks.
