I have a ladder stand in the same tree for the last 8-9 years and produces every year but I do miss my old built ins with the screw in steps ! Getting on in years changes your hunting patterns !

I haven't been in the woods yet , not a bow hunter by any means but I did (today) spray everything down with Permethrin ! Thanks for the heads up on ticks !

How Early Before Sunrise Do You Get In Your Stand?

I have a ladder stand so there is no setup just climb up sit and wait , that being said I prefer 45 min to an hour before first light ! Love seeing the woods come alive ! -

Now that I have a crossbow I could take one from my back deck as opposed to driving 1/2 an hour to my hunting property and climbing up my ladder stand ! Gee what should I do ?

Wash the hunting clothes in regular soap (whatever the wife uses) and then put in a large garbage bag with pine cones 2 weeks before season then go hunting when season opens !

I shot one like that opening day last year ..... never touched it just kicked dirt on top of it !

55 gallon drum with some smelly garbage at the bottom , they fall in and cannot get out ! Fish in a Barrel !

I've never bought a ground blind so my opinion of them is null and void ! I would use the natural surroundings and build one or two out of fallen logs / brush / whatever !
