  1. Congrats zeek, beautiful buck. Love those racks that are tight and high. Will make an awesome mount. Nice that beams are also almost touching.
  2. Thats the way to do it. Nice to have a job where the hours drop off and coincides with the hunting season, nice. Good luck, put one down for me...lol...enjoy.
  3. Nice!!! Good luck, hope a big one comes your way.
  4. Dont you people work!!! Sorry, that was just jealousy coming out..lol..good luck all.
  5. Congrats, he sure was a fighter.
  6. Funny i did same exact thing, gave property a break for 2 weeks then will go at it again for last week of reg. then following week with ML.
  7. Make venison sausage, jerky and soprasotta. Take in trail cams. Start making plans for next years food plots and maybe some tree prunning.
  8. An electric smoker with digital display just makes the whole process more simplistic, no babysitting needed. I use wood chips in mine, store bought or apple wood chips that i make. I get the same smokey taste on my jerky, sausage etc... than a propane or charcoal smoker.
  9. Never ever rinse meat before packaging. If you keep all your equipment clean, skin carefully and remove any hair as you go along there is absolutely no need to wash the meat. Washing can be done once you defrost, prior to cooking.
  10. I have shot bucks that were 5 1/2 down to 6 months and they all tasted great. Like FSW said, it all depends what's thier diet. My clover, corn eating deer of central NY taste great at any age, buck or doe. And thats a fact Jack!!!
  11. That looks way to healthy, im disappointed in your choice of snacks today.
  12. Damn Turkey, that is one healthy sandwich. Just made me drool. Enjoy and good luck.
  13. The 30-30 is a great gun, however for deer i would definitely lean towards a 35. I use a marlin 336 in 35 caliber and its an amazing big game rifle. I myself would choose a 45-70 over a 30-30 .
  14. Views from 2 of my stands, snow from 1 to 2 feet in 4f depending on drifts. About 1 foot in woods. Pics are sideways.
  15. Rubber boots for me are a must as i need to cross a stream to get to a few of my stands. I climb mountains with them no problem, you get use to them and the 2000 gram thinsulate helps out on those cold days. Helps to decrease odor as well.
  16. I will be setup high on a ridge in a ladder stand that overlooks my new food plots and my sanctuary. However being i already took 2 with the crossbow my first priority is to help my nephews first hunt be enjoyable and hopefully successful. Sure hope he scores.
