How Early Before Sunrise Do You Get In Your Stand?

I like to be on stand with bow and gun a half hr. To 45 minutes before sunrise. In the late season (muzzleloader) i like to walk in just as the sun comes out. -

Ive always said that people today feel they are owed things before they are even earned. Its sad but in reality people like my dad that came here from Italy and worked 30 years in construction to support a family are a dying breed. Most people today feel they are entitled to everything, loss of hard work ethic. Sorry but most of these protesters are the very same leaches that feed off the backs of the working person. Where do people find the time to do this crap. Simply amazing.

Wash all clothes in plain water, place clothes in a locking tote with a couple pine branches. I take a shower before each hunt with just water, no soaps what so ever, not even scent free soaps. When i get to stand i spray everything down with scent killer earthy/dirt smelling cover scent. I never play the wind as deer come from every direction on all my stands and wind direction can change on the dime on my mountain.

I place it on the bottom of my boot and freshen it every once in a while as i walk, when i get to stand i will pour a generous amount about 10 yards away from treestamd on a treelimb.

Didnt have reception from camp, so its technically not live, but here are 2 deer taken yesterday. Took doe in morning and 5 pointer in afternoon. Both 5 pointer and another buck were chasing a doe when i shot him. After i shot the 5 pointer the other buck came in grunting and left grunting. Great day, freezer almost full and done for now with crossbow. Shot the doe at 35 yards and buck a tad over 20 yards.

Got doe yesterday morning and 5 pointer in the afternoon. The 5 pointer was chasing a doe, after i shot him another buck came in to investigate and was grunting all the way. Was a great afternnoon hunt. Bucks starting to chase. Im all done for crossbow.- 14 replies

You think deer are tuff, when i shot my bear a few years back on the ny gun opener, shot her thru her shoulder quarting away and going uphill and bullet came out her head. The bear was still alive for a few minutes before it expired. Gotta give those bears ample time to die. Have a new level of respect for those critters. Mind you she was shot with a 200 grain 35 caliber bullet. Man they are tuff. Damn G Man the suspense is killing me.
