Congrats on the nice buck! I took a week off after I shot my buck. I've been out a few times since, but don't feel obligated to go. I would like to shoot another doe or 2 with my bow for the freezer though! I'm tentatively scheduled to go to Branchport for Thanksgiving. So if I haven't killed a buck here, I will tote the gun along and hunt one of the big boys while we are there. Congrats again!

It's always neat to see the blacks. I have only seen one in my area, and that was on the golf course. I wish my wife would eat squirrel. I need to do some serious squirrel reduction. I counted 23 nests from my stand yesterday morning.

That's a hell of a story, really ended up well for you.

Have a couple Vortex scopes (diamondback and sniper) and love them. They're high quality optics comparable to the other top of the line scopes. Glass is great and so is the warranty.

Seriously, if you have deer moving that routinely all you need is some scent killer, a hang on stand set up with wind in your favor, and a few hours of your time. I wouldn't mess with a decoy or attractant or cover scents.

Family of raccoons walking around my tree...annoying!

Been real quiet. Had a small fawn doe come by at 7:30. Now it's like someone flipped a switch. Every bird in the area is making noise.

Whatever is walking around is breaking branches. Kind of hope it walks by after daylight so I can get some footage.

It's so quiet! I can hear things walking around in the woods but have no clue what they are. Beautiful clear skies.

Had a ton of action tonight. Saw a nice 2 year old 8 point and 11 does! All hung out at 90 yards so no shot. Time to move a stand so I can smoke some of these flat heads!

That is a great looking deer. He looks like a stud of a 3 year old. Good tine length, good mass, and some really good spread. Kudos to you for making that decision. If he makes it to next year he could end up as 140-150" stud. Since I shot my biggest buck to date with my bow (which was last week 10/12) and after talking to my neighbor (who hunts ~500 acres adjoining my property) I will definitely be more selective in the future. I would def let that deer walk if he wouldn't have been my biggest with bow. Hope you get a crack at a monster!
