I met him on 3 occasions. Like I said, mixed feelings. -

As far as Charlie goes, I have mixed feelings. I appreciate all he had done in the study of Whitetail but have a sour taste in my mouth that he seemed to be all about the almighty dollar as a first priority. I know a not for profit that reached out looking for 3 photos that were the same buck (verifiable) from spike to 3-1/2 year old. Not genetic manipulation. He had them. They were going to be used for education and conservation usage and the three photos had a price tag of $750. That spoke about the "man" enough for me. -
That would be consistent with the 3/32" then, right? If the reduction was on both sides of the wheel then the recommended max of 3/16" (3/32" on each side) would be under that.
-
I've never had an issue with only needing two. (short of a blow out). Proper rotation will relieve that . I'd bet that tire pressure would effect more people than the mismatch on the tires. I think they allow 3/32 for any mismatch. That is quite a bit of tread actually.
-
could actually be more. I'd bet the AWD feature is more than a 4WD in a similar line. .
-
I was talking about comparable vehicles. If you took a 4WD Jeep and an AWD jeep the 4WD would get better milage while in 2WD.
-
I pretty much agree with what others have said. We have had both AWD and 4WD vehicles. I will add that in a comparable vehicle the 4WD will get better gas mileage when NOT in 4WD than the AWD drive model will in normal operation. Like on dry roads or Spring Summer and Fall driving. The Engine is turning more on a constant basis in an AWD model.

I think we do all know of some guys though that would slit their grandmother throats for a shot at a big buck. -

I get that for some. I honestly can't say what is truly on others hearts or heads. I will say that I LOVE the cat and mouse game and knowing that there are some really nice bucks around can focus my efforts a bit. It seems like there are two extreme ideas that were put out there in this thread and others. That the majority are in it just for the experience and that the majority are in it just for the love of horns. Like everything else in life the actual truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I'm 52. From 8 year sold to 50 years old I spent every weekend, Thanksgiving and some vacation days hunting with my Father. I do like chasing around some big bucks but sure would take never seeing another buck to have a couple hours around the hunting camp table swapping the same old stories. For me I do love hunting camp. At our place the hunting sucks really compared to some of the access i have in WNY. Even with that I spend opening weekend and the whole opening week at camp. As long as the weather allows me to get in I still go to camp. Everybody thinks I am nuts but gun season just has to be deer camp (even with no deer) lol -

If this were the case why would guys even get out of bed once they shot a buck? I've filled my buck tag on opening day or opening weekend and still looked forward to gettign out of bed every day I had available to hunt and fill my doe tag/tags. I've still gone to hunting camp even when I was tagged out. -
I think that a lot of guys that don't like the scopes in these situations and don't want to use them just haven't had enough experience with them. I see more guys shoulder the gun, fidget to get a clear view of the scope and then try to acquire the target looking through the scope. Properly set up, if you shoulder the gun with your eyes closed, then open your eyes the full scope view should be there. If not it isn't set up right for you. The other mistake I see people make is trying to find the target through the scope. Properly set up if you keep your eyes on the target and shoulder the gun with a low mag scope you will be on target even if it is moving. You are bringing the scope into your line of sight not hunting for the target. IMO

Pistol Recertification Reminder

Cuomo is letting us little people have a 10 round mag but still the law calls for only 7 in the mag. (court rulings aside). -
Get one of those in a crossbow model and 200 yard shots should be like a chip shot..lol It's pretty neat but that is as much as most bows.
