I hope his back is as stong as he claims and he never loses his super human strength because if he ever has to rely on his smarts to make it ...he will just be another one on the Govt handout list.

This is what I was thinking about. In the Northern Zone it is illegal to carry a rifle larger than .22 rimfire or a shotgun loaded with slug, ball or buckshot afield if accompanied by a dog, except when coyote hunting under permit from the local Environmental Conservation Officer.
-
I have found that steel shoots one choke tighter than it would with lead. SO a mod would give you a comparable pattern with steel as a full would with lead. Also you might want to check the regs. I thought there was something about possessing slugs afield when it wasn't deer season.

If you really want to get conused, try this. (and I have no idea if this hold in NYC) Blackpowder pistols are primative. revolvers and muzzleloaders. you can have them in NY without a pistol permit but you can not have them AND components to make them go bang without a pistol permit. SO if you want that nice ML pistol to hang above the mantlle of the fireplace you are good. But if you own it and black powder and caps and ball....you must have a permit. If you plan on hunting with it, unless you are going to hit them over the head with it you need a permit for both, Just like Bubba said

No way. My wife would be thinking I was lying just to have it. She wuld need proof it was going to end and by that time it would be too late. Christmas Eve and Birthday. I hope you guys don't think I am a very religious person from some of the past threads. I just signed on for the Christian thing so I had Christmas eve...lol

Skillet hit it on the head, Biz. You said couple hundred and I couldn't see that. I think there is a point that a fenced hunt could be very much like a real hunt. Heck look at Kodiak Island. Not fenced but might as well be. I wouldn't dream of saying a grizzly hunt up there isn't a hunt.Would we say that the guys that hunt Long Island aren't hunters? I really think 1000 acres is still a canned hunt and I don't know at what magic number I would change my mind, but i believe there is one. I haven't really thought about it. I personally wouldn't do one. I was just pointing out what a friend did. and it basically cost him a day and no money since he was going to buy a butcher pig anyway.
-
Let me know when we leave. You book it Biz. I will throw my check in the mail to you for that $200 boar hunt...lol. I am in!!!! How far would you have to go to get a real boar hunt with any chances of getting one

My buddies have their "hunt" on video. I ca't remember how big the area was but it took them all day to find the boars and stalk within bow range. 3 missed attempts. and you should see the charge the one bore did. The kill shot is missed on tape because the one filming bailed and started to run. Second shot was 5 yards head on. That was a 400# freight train with one sharp front bumper. I guess if you did it that way it would be a rush. He had bought a pig each year to butcher and cmpard with the hunt it ended up costing him about the same per pound...so he said.

They would probably make it to you guys before they made it down by me in Marathon. I don't want them here but wouldn't mind popping one

Buddy went to a place up by Oswego for a boar hunt. Meat was grat and it was a good deal per pound. They had some elk there and they were over $5,000

Well from your posts and you little brothers post I is obvious the gene pool isn't very deep in your neck of the woods. If someone is gong to make threats the police should be called. Unfortunately it isn't like the good old days where someone could just drag you out behind the barn for an attitude adjustment

You guys ever see any sign of them in your area, Virgil?

I think it was the late 90's. we got hammered the end of March with 24" in one storm then 24" more a couple days later. nice thing was it all melted in a couple weeks. Personally I am looking forward to a little global warming. I would love palm trees on the shore of Ontario...lol

The hammock style seat is the only way to go. I like the larger stands. the ones that are like a man and a half. It really makes it nicer for any movement and I don't feel like I am wedging myself into it.

Heck Eddie. From what I have seen facebook is less family oriented and far more aggressive than here...lol

Fourseasons. I predicted three pages not WNY. I really gotta find that receipt so I can return that magic 8 ball. It was wrong on the three page predictions.
-
I just grabbed my "Magic 8 Ball". I asked it a question and it said that this thread will tun into a pissing match in about 3 pages...lol
-
I was going to offer too Pygmy. Just too far away I guess. Gotta be 4 or 5 hours

Welcome to getting older, Geno...lol I have high blood pressure so I am very limited in what I can take. I can only take the Coricidan HPB stuff and it is just barely better than nothing at all.
-
Sky, That wasn't clear to me anyway from your first post. I wasn't sure if they were nuisance tags for that you couldn't transfer tags or that you couldn't purchase multiple tags. That puts it in a different light. I would have to find a new hunting partner.

Stay away from NYC
Culvercreek hunt club replied to SteveNY's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Personally I wouldn't take any gun out of state without checking the laws of the state i was going to or traveling through. I would think as a gun owner and a member of a movement that focuses on too much Govt involvement in our lives he would have known there are widely differing laws. I really have to say, while I think NYC's laws are BS they still are laws. It is no different than going out of state to hunt and just going by NY's game laws for weapons, hunting times and limits. I think it is our responsibility to know what we are doing. And that issue is totally different thatn whether NYC's laws are bogus. (whiich , I agin think they are) He should consider himself lucky he isn't behind bars. -
Pygmy, Do you fire a cap before loading? I have always done it because the guy who got me into it alwasy did. He swore it burned out any remaing oil and moisture. True?

right down the muzzle with a cleaning jag. I strongly suggest getting a patch puller for retreiving any lost patches and a dental pick like you dentise uses to clean plaque on your teeth is great for making sure the nipple area is clean.

Doc, If I make it through still breathing and able to look forward to the next one I chalk it up as a win. If I make it though with my Father still in tow it is a blessing.
