  1. Other than the frost heave issue its been a good 4 days. Boiled sap at my brother in laws yesterday. Found a shed, found a rub beneath my trail cam that didn't have a card in it!! lol next time. Picture of a bunch of deer across from the camp. I counted about 12 a week ago my neighbor said there were 40 plus! Picking up 3 deer mounts today at 1:00 I'll post picts later.
  2. Dig the lines up and put gravel around them? How much deeper than the line should I go?
  3. Thank you all for your input. What I saw today was two lines that connect to the main drain, toilet. They are pitched now the wrong way. Thus believing the cabin did not sink but the main drain line heaved. There is a lot of water behind cabin and also where the main line goes into the ground. I believe I have to put in some drainage to alleviate the problem. Please keep suggestions coming. Thank you all.
  4. OK I'll check but in the corner is the hot water heater and pressure tank for well. That would of moved also. I'll check those things out. I guess the skirting should be compressed also another thing to look at. Thanks
  5. What if the back side of the cabin was sinking? Jump ship? lol Half the cabin is on piers the other foundation. I don't know just throwing it out there.
  6. It exits about 4 feet from where the toilet drain comes down. I might look into that rubber sleeve. Thanks
  7. Second time this has happened in the bath room. Seems that the main drain to septic system is subject to frost heave. Do I have to drain water away from this area? It is wet back of the cabin. Be nice if there was an expandable boot I could install on the line. Pushed the toilet over, bolts were not on the screws to hold it in place. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  8. Not a soul been there since mid Dec. Hope I don't have to evict a few tenants! Going to air out the place and give it a good cleaning. Organize the shed also. Will take a few walks on the property to check out things. How about this for perfect timing....we had three deer mounted from last year. I called DJ's taxidermy in Bath and he said (his son mounted them) they would be ready on Sunday! I think this year I officially start my count-down to moving up to the cabin permanently. 2022 going to be a fun year! I'll post picts of the mounts on Sunday when I get them.
  9. Very nice not that score matters just another piece of info. Looks like it might go a bit higher if official, maybe not. Sure is one beautiful deer enjoy it!
  10. Awesome, buck is so symmetrical. Did you have it scored?
  11. It truly divides. My late FIL would say fill all those tags that's what they are there for. Things have changed a lot. There is so many factors that go into what type of deer you set your sites on. Judge the hunter on the size of the smile not the horns after the harvest!
  12. First night and i blew it. Venison stew...
  13. I should get two bags of: Sand cherry, winterberry, red osier dogwood, silky dogwood, red oak
  14. I bought this house 5 years ago. Original owner passed in 1987 she was a school teacher. It was left to her niece who used it as a summer home. When she died it was put up as an estate sale. I bought it with some original property left in basement and garage. One of the things I found were a stack of National Geographic magazines. hat stack contained an issue from 1911. It had a 64 inch B&W pullout of a picture taken of the Rockies. Value $350 bucks. There were a bunch more from that era I still have never looked into the value!
  15. Speaking of old magazines I was a subscriber to ODL for many years. Started when I was a kid probably 15 years old. This would make it 1978. Back then they always did these give-aways to subscribers. I have B&W drawing of bears, deer, dogs and turkey. Numerous patches I have on a hunting vest I wore back in the 70's. Drink coasters with wildlife scenes on them. Those are a few that come to mind but there are more. Best thing is that they are all still in my possession at the cabin!
  16. Same here Bob is wonderful. Howdy Bob hope you are well, Burt.
  17. I have a bunch of ODL from the 60's. Great reads!
  18. Got an email yesterday saying my property was picked for the free buffer bank plantings. Should get them in April! More info tk
  19. Love the mount and the way it sits on the wall.
  20. Just be careful if you get some old equipment to use. Some of that stuff doesn't protect as well as the new stuff. Not worth an injury.
