  1. I'making pulled venison, root beer style! http://www.wideopenspaces.com/wild-game-recipe-root-beer-bbq-pulled-venison/?utm_content=bufferf5e1c&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&utm_campaign=Buffer
  2. My buddy has been doing the drone flying for a while. It's not as easy as you think especially when they are out of sight. You now have to register with the FFA and take classes to get a license. They are pricey and when you crash them…... you get the picture!
  3. That was priceless! Best post right there!
  4. Striped Bass is great eating! That is one nice fish. Did you get them on eels or trolling? Father in Law years ago caught a 41lbs Bass off the rocks, it was amazing. Congrats!
  5. In the past the ladder stands we bought were 16'. They are still out in the field. I have a couple of new ones that are 20' and I absolutely love them.
  6. Never had a problem being entertained by Mother Nature. Sitting in a tree stand for hours works for me and I don't get bored, no matter what time of season cause you never know what is going to happen the next minute!
  7. I see what you are saying but I would rather leave the bear in the woods and have the older guys get a chance. Kids have their whole lifetime of hunting in front of them.
  8. I agree with you Grow. This is a big undertaking shooting a bear. Planning is key and if you can't answer all the questions and agree to a plan don't shoot it. Personally I think it should be left out of Youth season. Let's concentrate on the deer. Use a bear sighting as something really special that not every hunter gets to see. Take it from there to peak the youth's interest. I have run across some hardened hunters that shot bear and never would do it again. Between my camp and the one next door we have about 20 hunters. I don't believe anyone has ever shot a bear. There are some guys up in their 70's. I rather let them have the opportunity to shoot a bear. JMO
  9. Opening day of 2015 was a great day for us. We had two hot does on the property that morning. It resulted in 4 nice bucks being killed by 11 am. There were also a few more seen trying to find the hot does during the day. It was peak for us in 8P!
  10. As a land owner it would be really hard for me to say yes to a total stranger. It would take time getting to know the person first for me to make a judgement. Just trying to help out here and think of things that could work. I would try to look over a place especially if the landowner is from out-of-town and see what needs to be done around camp. Put your skills to work. I know one year I had a problem keeping up with mowing the lawn which was a few acres. I could see working out a deal with someone over that.
  11. Nice, how is the clover plot coming along. We got pounded with rail on LI. Hope it was dry for you.
  12. The guy is wearing flip-flops riding a quad. He isn't too bright.
  13. Sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family.
  14. Happy birthday a toast to you!
  15. Fawns with spots get shot all the time on LI during late gun season in January. Go figure…….
  16. Hunt it and see whats going on. Just be careful getting to it. You ay be spooking the deer of your life in that field.
  17. Cool morning and that smell of leaves in the air……...
  18. This is pretty funny but the DEC said no way.
  19. I can pick you up and you can ride shotgun in the delivery truck, ready in a half hour! lol
