Good luck!

Good to hear from you. Love it that it's working out upstate! Happy Holidays!!!

I did the same exact thing. That uneven ground raises hell on the machine.

I like it. I requested that my buck had ears in different directions. Something different a bit out of the norm won't hurt! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Our first meal from the harvest this year. Venison meatballs prepared by my daughter!

I count four fortunate deer…..

Both. Mostly in ladder stands but we have a few ground blinds set up.

Bought a garden hose and sprayer from home depot. The sprayer broke after a week. Went into my garage and found one of those old time sprayers, very dark colored almost copper looking, hooked it up and its been on my hose ever since. It has to be 40+ years old. lol

My thoughts this season…..I spent the least amount of time in the woods this year in a long long time. Actually it was about 20 hours between bow and gun and my tags were filled in gun season. Never ever thought it would work out that way but it did. Lady luck was surly on my side.

Two hot does, 5 hunters on 64 acres between the hours of 7:30 and 10:30 am! lol -

The 10.5 acre parcel bordering me to the west would be for sale. A lovely elderly couple owned the property. They loved the property as a camp should be loved. They had such wonderful memories of the camp but as time marched on so did the age of this couple. We became good friends and I helped them out as much as I could. A few skipped years at opening day had me worried. Health issues became a great problem for them. I received a phone call a few months ago from them telling me the place is going up for sale. They knew I would be interested and really they wanted me to end up with the place. It was unfortunate for them but a blessing for me because the property is a major bedding area that I knew if in the wrong hands could really hurt my hunting. The place consisted of an old single wide and a few out buildings. We agreed on a price and got the closing done last week. I have no plans for the trailer and offered it to them when ever they wanted to visit. I guess my point here is give what you can to others in life because one day it will come back to you. I always believed in this concept and will continue to do it. Just today my niece harvested her first deer at my camp off of the new property. FL-

A few of my family member went up to camp for last weekend. This is GianLuca's first deer hunt. I heard he was a real trooper but at times fell asleep in the warm temps. They are still at it today, hope he gets to see some action!!

That is one nice eight point. I know that when I release that arrow or bullet that deer is not mine until I retrieve it. What if the deer was arrowed again by another hunter during the tracking? Sorry its not his deer. Now if I were the one who found it and heard the story of the unfortunate hunter there might be a glimmer of hope I turn over the antlers. It would all depend on how this hunter presents the story and himself.

I live right by the area he was killed. I had my suspicions about this one. I jog past that spot every morning and yesterday looked at the marking on the road. They are exactly the same way in the picture. I did stop a Suffolk County cop and asked him about it. He didn't have any reports issued but we have village police who issued the report. That road is not something you would speed on. 30 mph, its a curve at the crest of a hill. I heard a town worker took the deer. I can confirm that today with my neighbor. I will also try to find out what it scored. I see deer on my jog all the time but never this big boy. Sometimes in the fall I'll be running and get a whiff of a real musky buck and I know he was just around……..

It's going to take a few seasons to see a pattern. Then I will make a call on using tags or not. We had a great season this year and a so-so season last. I'm not jumping to conclusions on my area yet.

This buck was hit by a car two blocks from my house. I live in Northport on Long Island. This deer was a beast, one of the biggest around. Sucks he was put down by a car.

Set until 9am dress down and put on the drives.

Bear hunt started the other day. Sounds like they did real well.
