My neighbor at camp can't stop telling me how many deer he has been seeing this spring/early summer. I guess this mild winter we just had doesn't subtract to the population that much. Ill be up to check cams July 15th that should give me a good look.

Thanks guys. Everything you said is so true. I have 5 neighbors that border me. We all get along great and there has never been a problem. I'm very lucky for sure.

You all know I was able to buy the 10 acre parcel next to my camp. So know I border another camp consisting of 66 acres. I have never met the owner and in fact they didn't show up for the last two seasons. You can go online and pretty much find out anything about your neighbor in the tax map section for your county. I did this and got his address and sent along a friendly letter introducing myself. That was a week ago and I received a phone call from him today. He really appreciated the letter and was looking forward to meeting me in a couple of weeks. We were on the phone for 15-20 minutes and I felt like I knew the guy. Always like to extend my hand first and see what happens……it will pay off in the long run.

Is this a Mulberry bush?
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Thanks all! -
Was walking through an area and spotted this tree/bush. More like a tree because the trunk was 8" round. Had big green leaves and huge berries. Would love to have one of these at my place!

True story….walking into the Time Life building in Manhattan a few years ago I come upon a worker with a milk crate over a bird. I take a look and it was a Woodcock. Must of flown right into a building and fell pretty hard. I heard he was the main course that night! lol

Wooly that is cool. Years ago I was at the top of a mountain in the Catskills at sunrise. There was only a sliver of clear sky the rest clouds. When the sun shined through the opening it washed the whole forest in burnt orange color. It was truly amazing. I have never ever seen anything like it again. Those moments are made to reflect upon. Glad you had a camera!

I had a pedestal mount done this year. Every one that sees it says the next mount they get done will be the same. I love it and your mount looks great nice deer.

If I head out to check cameras or scout new areas I usually don't pack any weapon. If my girls are with me in the woods I do. Years ago in the Finger lakes you didn't see many bear. Today is a different story. Same goes for the coyotes. It is just going to take one crazy animal that gets startled to cause a problem and I what to be on the winning. end. Now that doesn't mean I will take pot shots at yotes any time of the year. It will have to come down to a real dire situation for me to fire the gun. I understand your logic Wooly but I think its a bit of a stretch if we go into the woods packing though.
