Yesterday I had a long conversation with a Police Officer who was at the scene. It was hit by a car.

That is a whole lot of money. I couldn't even answer that question.

Saratoga nursery taking orders
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I know they ship to the Ag dept in Bath. I don't see any apple trees on the Saratoga list. -
Yeah I thought it should of been higher but I saw some other pictures of this deer and the rack doesn't look as big in the two pictures I posted. If you ask me he looks 155-165……Heard an old lady was feeding this buck. She watched him run off her property and get hit by the car.

Found out he scored high 140's and was 200 lbs. Just today two other bucks in the same area were seen by my friend. Almost or just as big as the road kill buck.

Saratoga nursery taking orders
First-light replied to First-light's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Those of you at a a distance can have them shipped to your house. Take the seedlings and plant them in cheap window boxes that depot sells. Use a good soil mixture. I did this once and let them grow all summer and planted in the fall. Worked great. -
When I bought my land back in 2007 I ordered 300 white pine from the nursery. We planted them in April of that year. They were pencil size trees that are now almost 6-8 feet tall. I would say a good 250 made it. Well worth the 50 or so bucks I paid for them. Also had my kids help plant them and we call each area they planted their forest. Buy them now before they get sold out of some species. On a side note for some reason the bucks don't like to rub white pine, why I don't know but none were ever torn up??

Brother and his friend hunted all day and saw nothing. No deer were brought into the chaco station. He also didn't see much sign. Maybe the sharpshooters got them all….lol

My neighbors Granddaughter uses a 223 and My niece. Both have taken deer with these guns. The smaller caliber is what these girls were after. Gun did its job for sure.

Happy Birthday!

I wouldn't bother. My advice would be to walk into the wind. Last time I hunted public land out there I walked probably 7-10 miles in the day and kicked up a ton of deer. GL

It seems that does come into cycle from early Oct all the way through late December. So yes a late doe could be making the youngster chase her.

My neighbor is walking our properties Wednesday with a Forestry manager. I'll report back on his findings.

Have a great day John!

Grow who owns the camp, the whole family?

I was just walking around some of the woods that this buck lived in. You have to see some of the cedar trees rubbed up. Not just one or two but 10-15 huge trees ribbed to shit. Pretty amazing but he is not the only big one that lives there. FYI just found a tick crawling up my neck. Warm weather has these bastards out again. BTW for the salt fisherman I have never seen so much bait in Northport harbor so late into December. There is plenty of hearing but acres of peanut bunker and other baitfish. Water hovering around 48-50 degrees.
